Yes, food and menu work is something we particularly enjoy. For a kitchen near Camden Lock or in Hawley Wharf, we would style and photograph each dish and drink fresh from the pass, so it looks as good in the picture as on the plate. Camden Market grew from a weekly Sunday crafts market started near Camden Lock on 30 March 1974 and now includes the Stables and Hawley Wharf beside the Regent's Canal. Staff and models can reach a shoot in NW1 from Camden Road Overground, from one of the many bus routes, or from Camden Town station on the Northern line, which opened in 1907. The Roundhouse on Chalk Farm Road, a Grade II* listed engine shed built in 1846 to 1847, reopened as an arts venue on 1 June 2006 after a major renovation.

Much of the trade around Camden Town is not office trade, and that changes what a commercial shoot has to solve. Market business and a long-standing live music economy mean many premises are stalls, units, bars and venues rather than open-plan floors, and those spaces bring two lighting problems that offices do not. The first is volume. Converted industrial buildings such as the Roundhouse have height, so the ceiling is too far away and generally too dark to bounce anything off it. Light has to be carried in and shaped on the spot rather than borrowed from the room. The second is mixed sources. Venue and bar interiors run coloured and tungsten fittings alongside whatever daylight gets in, and colours that read as atmosphere to the eye turn into three different skin tints in one frame unless those fittings are overpowered or switched off at the board. Access is the other real constraint. A market unit is small, has stock in it, and trades during the hours you would most want to photograph it, so the work there is a matter of operating in a metre of floor with no stands underfoot, or booking before trading starts.
