Serving Camden

Documenting Sikh weddings in Camden

Camden is a vibrant inner north London borough. Your celebration in Islington, Westminster is in experienced hands, from the milni to the doli. We cover the whole of London and the surrounding area, and Camden and the towns around it are well known to us.

Inside the gurdwara we never turn our back to the Guru Granth Sahib, shooting discreetly from the sides and the back. We are calm and unhurried, gathering the whole story of the Anand Karaj without ever getting in the way. We move quietly around the darbar sahib, capturing the four laavan as they happen rather than staging them.

We know Camden, a vibrant inner north London borough, and the surrounding part of Greater London well, having photographed Sikh weddings throughout Islington, Westminster. We are often in nearby the City of London and Eastcote too. Around Camden we regularly photograph at Camden Town Hall, The Standard London and The Bloomsbury Hotel, among others.

A vibrant inner north London borough famous for Camden Market and a long-standing live music heritage. Camden Town station on the Northern line, with Chalk Farm a short walk away. For relaxed couple photographs, we like Primrose Hill, with its celebrated viewpoint over the London skyline, and The Roundhouse, a former 1847 railway engine shed now a leading music and arts venue gives the day a strong sense of Camden.

Every tradition

Every tradition, beautifully told

We work discreetly at the back and the sides of the darbar sahib, so the Anand Karaj is never disturbed. Before the ceremony the groom's sehra is tied, and we photograph the sehra bandi with a gentle eye. We photograph the milni, the morning meeting of the two families, with all of its warmth and garlands.

We are glad to cover a single event or the whole multi-day celebration. We document the sagai and the engagement that begin the journey, when families ask us. The doli, when the bride leaves her family home, is the most tender moment of the day.

The whole celebration

A multi-day celebration in Camden

Many Sikh weddings begin days before with the maiyan, the mehndi and a jaggo night. The days before the wedding often hold the most relaxed, candid moments of the whole celebration.

Because gurdwaras often require an early finish, the Anand Karaj usually falls in the morning, and we plan for it. We always recommend a little time for couple portraits, often after the ceremony, away from the bustle.

Why choose us

Calm, discreet coverage in Camden

We are award-winning photographers with a long history of Sikh weddings in the gurdwara and beyond. Twenty-five years behind the lens means we know exactly what comes next, from the sehra bandi to the doli.

We cover the whole of the UK for Anand Karaj ceremonies, so distance never stands between us and your gurdwara. We cover London and the surrounding area and beyond for the darbar sahib and the reception, and are glad to travel further afield on request.
