The short answer
Your wedding photographer in Camden, at a glance
Kaushik Bathia is an award winning wedding photographer based in London, photographing weddings in Camden and throughout Greater London for over twenty five years and more than a thousand celebrations. From the first cup of morning tea to the last dance, we document the whole arc of your day, letting one moment lead naturally into the next. Church, civil, country house, barn, marquee or hotel, and every faith, culture and fusion celebration, we are equally at home photographing them all in Camden. With more than 1,000 weddings behind us over twenty-five years, very little takes us by surprise, and that experience keeps us steady when a day runs long. Engagement shoots, a second photographer for busier days and beautiful fine art albums are all part of what we offer, and we travel throughout Greater London and the rest of the UK for your wedding.
Urban weddings need a different discipline, because the backgrounds are busy and the photography has to be about separation and timing. A ceremony at Camden Town Hall followed by drinks at The Standard London or The Bloomsbury Hotel gives a compact day with little travel, and that spare time is best spent on Primrose Hill, whose celebrated viewpoint over the London skyline is the one frame that says Camden without a market sign in it. The Roundhouse, the 1847 railway engine shed now a leading music and arts venue, is strong architecture to work against for couple portraits. Camden Town station on the Northern line puts guests within walking distance, with Chalk Farm a short walk away, so late arrivals are common and worth planning around. Kentish Town and Hampstead sit close by if a quieter street is wanted for the walking pictures.
Serving Camden
From first look to last dance in Camden
Whichever slot was free usually picks your room, not how well it photographs. So ask which one you will actually be given, and where its windows sit relative to the spot you will stand on. A licensed room with light down one side is a gift. One lit purely from above is a different job, and knowing that now beats discovering it at ten on a Saturday.
After that it is about time rather than light. Civil ceremonies run to a clock, and the room behind you is often wanted again, so pictures that need people standing still have to happen somewhere else. Decide in advance where that somewhere is. Three names sit on the list here: The Standard London, The Bloomsbury Hotel and Camden Town Hall. Then there is the hill. Open public ground never clears of strangers and eats most of a slot, so settle the question of Primrose Hill weeks out, never on a Saturday morning.

Two-day festivities? We are ready for those too
Legally, a civil ceremony is over quickly, and the registrar runs it rather than you or us. The standing positions open to a photographer are theirs to decide, and they vary, so we ask on arrival and abide by whatever comes back. Hence turning up early: a few words with the registrar beforehand beat a month of planning done at a distance.
Two-day weddings change the arithmetic. Day two rarely repeats day one; it runs looser, later and better for candid work, so it wants a different sort of coverage instead of more of the same. Speeches sit as a fixed point, and so does the first dance, and most of what surrounds them on that second day is best left alone. Two photographers usually do more on the looser day than on the formal one. Say early if you are running both, because it changes who we bring as much as how long we stay.

Why choose us
How long have we been doing this? Long enough to relax
Long enough that a delayed car, a broken zip or a downpour timed to ruin the one outdoor plan is a familiar problem rather than a crisis. Calm is the actual product. Everything else, the lenses, the editing, the delivery, is ordinary craft that any decent photographer ought to be able to promise you.

Good to know
Wedding photography in Camden, frequently asked questions
Yes, and deliberately rather than by accident. A quick word with your planner, the band and the person actually running your room stops anybody blocking anybody, and the day moves instead of three suppliers quietly waiting on each other.
Whole galleries rather than highlight reels, work shot indoors in poor light, and someone who asks about your family before they talk about style. If a photographer in Camden cannot show you a full day from start to end, ask why.
We stay when we can, at an hourly rate agreed with you on the spot and never slipped in afterwards. Where staying is genuinely impossible, you will hear so long before your date, not at eleven at night.
A private gallery online, yours to share, to download at full size and to keep. Copies on physical media go out on request too, and everything stays backed up at our end, so reprinting later is straightforward.
Send us your date first of all, because a date is the part that runs out. After that a call, a written outline of what is included, and a booking payment. Nothing is confirmed until you have all three in writing.
