Every tradition puts one person in charge of the camera's limits, and the holder is seldom whoever pays the bills. A priest, perhaps; an official at the building; an uncle nobody thought to mention. During planning we work out where that authority sits and put the question directly, since a refusal arriving halfway through a ceremony costs you the ceremony. Early questions get better answers, partly because the person answering is not yet under pressure and partly because a no can still be worked around.

Another remembers the walima and keeps what came before it inside the family.
