Newborn and family photography in Eastcote

Family sessions run at Eastcote House Gardens for most months, with Ruislip Manor, Rayners Lane and Northwood Hills covered on the same basis. Prams, grandparents and short legs all do better here than on open parkland, because the paths are firm and the backgrounds are a few steps apart rather than a walk.

Bring two adults if you can. One goes in the picture and the other stands behind us being ridiculous at the toddler, then they swap. That single arrangement does more for a session with a small child than any amount of equipment, and it costs nothing at all.

What we offer

Family photography in Eastcote

01

Whole-Family Portraits

Walled garden sessions where a toddler can be let loose and no adult spends the hour watching an exit.

Baby's First Year

Wide group frames taken on the open green, where there is room to fit three generations across.

03

Studio Sessions

Northwood indoors from December, when a leafy suburb has gone bare and the afternoon light disappears early.

Why choose us

Families come back to us as children grow

We book the earlier part of the day where naps and school allow, since attention is a finite supply and the light is kinder before noon. A late slot works in high summer, when the walls hold light after the open ground has given up.

Nobody gets arranged into rows. Adults are given something to do with their hands, children are given permission to move, and that is what produces the pictures people keep. Editing stays light: colour and skin corrected, nothing about anybody reshaped.

Good to know

Family Photographer in Eastcote, FAQs

Yes, and the running order does most of the work. We photograph the baby with each older child early, while the older ones are still willing, then release them and finish with the baby alone. A walled garden helps here, because a sibling who has finished cannot get far, so the last half hour is not spent retrieving anybody.

Of course you can. We love including a well-behaved family pet, and many Eastcote sessions feature the household dog. A quick heads-up in advance helps us plan the shots properly and keep everybody, on two legs or four, happy and settled throughout.

You will not be kept waiting long at all. After each Eastcote session we carefully hand-pick and edit your photographs, then send through a private online gallery. From there you can take all the time you like over prints, canvases and albums.

Yes, gladly. For families around Eastcote, milestone sessions capture the moments that matter most as baby grows, from sitting up to first steps and that first birthday. Photographing a few points across the year lets you treasure how much changes in twelve short months.

There is no need. Toddlers from Eastcote keep us on our toes, and we love that, so we never demand stillness or forced smiles. We play, we follow their lead, and the natural moments we capture are often the pictures parents adore most.

Enclosure is the whole argument for photographing a family inside the walled garden at Eastcote House Gardens. A two year old who runs has somewhere to run to and nowhere to run out of, and that changes the adults more than it changes the child. Nobody is half watching an exit, so shoulders drop and the pictures stop looking supervised. The structured planting also gives small people something to do, and a child with a job in a frame is a child who has forgotten about the camera. The same walls cost you the big group shot. Getting nine people across the frame needs the camera some way back, and inside a boundary there is nowhere to retreat to, so the wide one with grandparents seated belongs on the open green rather than among the beds. That picture is worth taking early, before the youngest has had enough of standing about, and the walls are better saved for the pairs and the loose frames where shelter actually earns something. Ground and season matter for anyone bringing a pram or a relative who would rather not be walked far. Firm paths and short hops between backgrounds make a session workable where wet grass would not. Winter is the honest limit. A leafy suburb in December is bare and dim well before the afternoon ends, and small children lose interest faster in the cold. That is the point at which our Northwood room does the job better, with warmth, a light that does not change and no weather to negotiate with.
