Family sessions in Southall run either on the estate parkland at Osterley Park or at your own address, whichever suits the ages involved, and we cover Greenford, Yeading and Osterley on the same footing. The Northwood room stays in reserve for a sky that will not behave, and switching to it costs nothing as long as the decision is made early rather than at the gate.
The rule we apply here is one of order. The frame that has all of you in it is taken at the start, while asking is still easy, and everything else follows once that is safely done. Children are then photographed doing something rather than asked to sit still for it.

Outdoors, we would look for grass to run on and a playground close by, so younger children can let off steam between the group frames. The short notes on each park and landmark come from the council and reference pages linked beside them.
- Southall Recreation Ground in the old part of Southall has the Grand Union Canal along its south side, a perimeter path, a playground, tennis courts and football and cricket pitches. 1
- Glade Lane Canalside Park, entered from Glade Lane or Windmill Lane, has a playground, a BMX track, a skateboard ramp and a turf maze based on a traditional Celtic design, set among hay meadows, a pond and hedgerows. 2
- Southall Park, reached from Uxbridge Road, Green Drive and Boyd Avenue, is mainly formal parkland with a playground, tennis court, mosaic globe, water cascade and a nature conservation area with a pond and woodland walk. 3
- Spikes Bridge Park in Southall, beside the Grand Union Canal, has a waterside-themed children's playground, a running track and perimeter path, and a pond valued for birds and wetland plants. 4

Yes, and we would much rather you were in them. A family session is about the whole household, so parents belong in the frame rather than behind it. We start with everyone together, then move to smaller pairings and each child on their own, so every combination you want is covered.
It is a playful way to mark a first birthday. Your one-year-old is given a whole cake, and we photograph the first curious prod, the glorious mess and the delight that follows. It is easily among the most fun sessions we offer.

Studio sessions for Southall
If you would rather come to us, the studio is at 21 Joel St, Northwood HA6 1NU, about 6.5 miles from Southall, with Northwood Hills the nearest station on the Metropolitan line. The same studio takes bookings for portraits and headshots, does passport and ID photos, and prints, frames, restores and scans photographs in house. If the weather rules out a Southall park, the Northwood studio takes family sittings Monday to Saturday from 10:30 to 18:00, and on Sundays from 13:00 to 18:00 when both parents are free.
Every family session is photographed by Kaushik Bathia, a Fellow of the BIPP and the MPA with five European Kodak Gold Awards, who opened the Northwood studio in 2001.
