We work in short spells with gaps between them, because a young child's willingness is finite and spending it on walking leaves none for the pictures. Arranged frames go first and the running-about ones follow, and those are frequently what parents end up choosing.
There is no standing to attention. We set up a situation and photograph what happens inside it. You receive the whole edited set rather than a chosen dozen, sized for screens and for printing, so one child can be pulled out and framed on their own years afterwards.

What we offer
Family sessions across Ealing, with the Northwood room kept in hand for weather, wind or a newborn.
Short spells with breaks between, because a four-year-old's cooperation is spent quickly and cannot be recalled.
Grandparents and dogs are welcome; the route is kept short, level and easy on tired legs.
Twenty-five years behind the lens
With little ones we are patient and playful, so children forget the camera is even there. For newborns we work slowly and gently, keeping baby warm, safe and settled throughout.
Maternity sessions celebrate this stage with calm, flattering portraits, in the studio or outdoors. We are happy to include grandparents, older children, a family pet or a treasured toy in your session.

Good to know
Yes. The usual window is the last couple of months, when the shape is unmistakable and walking is still comfortable. In Ealing that argues for made paths and level ground rather than anything involving a hike, or for the Northwood room if the weather is poor. Partners and older children can be included in the same visit, and a newborn session afterwards is booked separately.
Simply tell us as early as possible. With little ones, illness and off days are part of life, and we would far rather rearrange than photograph an unsettled child. We will happily find another date that suits your Ealing family and gets everyone smiling.
You can choose from fine prints, framed wall art, canvases and hand-finished albums, all designed around your favourite images. After your session you view an edited gallery online, then pick the products that suit your home and your family. Outdoors in Ealing we would head for Walpole Park, a Grade II listed park surrounding Pitzhanger Manor.
Yes, and it is worth arranging deliberately rather than as an afterthought. Tell us who is coming at the point of booking, so the order can be planned: the full group early, then each generation, then the children by themselves. In Ealing we keep everything inside a short, level distance and stay within reach of seating, so nobody who tires easily has to walk between setups.
Please do not fret, as this is entirely normal. We photograph babies in Ealing every week and are well used to tears, wriggling and surprise naps. We pause, calm your baby gently and carry on, so a rocky start seldom shows in the images.
Serving Ealing
Ealing is well within our travel area. It sits close to Hounslow and Brent, which we cover too. We cover Ealing and the wider London area for family photography, on location or in the studio, with no local travel charge.
Ealing is a west London borough long nicknamed Queen of the Suburbs, with a diverse community. Ealing Broadway station is an interchange for the Elizabeth line and the Central and District lines. When a session suits an outdoor setting, Walpole Park is a favourite near Ealing, close to Pitzhanger Manor.

Formally planted ground is easier on a family than open parkland, and the first reason is underfoot. Land laid out around a house is given made paths, because visitors were meant to walk a route rather than cross a field, and a made path takes a pram without anyone lifting it over wet grass. Walpole Park's listed layout keeps those routes where they were put. The second reason is sightlines. Hedges and avenues divide ground into compartments, so a child who bolts gets about twenty yards before a corner stops them, and an adult can let go a little instead of holding a hand throughout. Enclosure also cuts wind, which counts for more with small children than most people expect, since cold hands end a session faster than boredom ever does. The third reason is the absence of distance. Structured ground changes its background every thirty paces, from hedge to gravel to a bed in flower to a stand of mature trees, so five different-looking pictures come out of one short circuit. That is the whole trick with a four-year-old, whose willingness is measured in a small number of minutes and gets spent on walking if you allow it. Grandparents benefit from the same arithmetic, since nothing has to be crossed and a bench is never far from wherever we are working. When the weather is genuinely against it, or when a baby's day runs on feeds rather than on daylight, the room in Northwood is the sensible substitute rather than the disappointing one.
