For Hatch End
We work at the animal's height and at its pace, which means most of a session is spent kneeling or lying on the grass waiting for a look rather than directing anything. Bring the food it actually cares about and a toy that makes a noise.
Sessions run forty minutes to an hour and we stop when the animal has finished, not when the hour is up. You get the full edited set in colour, plus monochrome conversions where a frame earns one.

What we offer
Dog sessions at Pinner Memorial Park, timed around the light rather than around the diary.
Cats, rabbits and older animals photographed at home, where nothing new has to be introduced.
Studio pet portraits on a clean background, for owners who want a print rather than a snapshot.
Why choose us
We keep sessions short enough to stay fun, reading when your pet has had enough and finishing while it is still enjoying itself. We capture both the still, dignified portrait and the blurred, joyful chaos of a dog in full flight.
You choose your favourites from an edited gallery, and advice on sizes is offered, since a small print of a large dog rarely satisfies anybody. We photograph dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, rabbits, guinea pigs and horses, and are happy to discuss any animal.

Good to know
Both, and they produce different pictures rather than better or worse ones. Outdoors in Hatch End means Pinner Memorial Park, and you get movement, grass and whatever the weather is doing. The Northwood studio gives a clean background, a still animal and something that will hang in a hallway. Cats and rabbits have a third option, which is that we come to the house.
Yes. Hatch End is one of the places we cover as standard out of Northwood, and there is nothing to arrange beyond a date. The one thing to tell us at enquiry is whether the animal can be let off the lead, because it decides everything after it: one that cannot go loose is worked on a long line at Pinner Memorial Park, and the line comes out of the pictures afterwards.
Yes, at the yard where the horse is kept. Horses are never brought to a studio, so the session is built around the yard rather than around us: turnout and feed times set the hour, not the light, and a dark coat pushes us to early morning or the last hour of the day. The yard's own ground decides the rest. Hatch End is within the area we travel to as standard.
Of course. Portraits of owners with their pets are some of the most touching we take. You are welcome to be in the frame, capturing the bond between you, or to stay just out of shot keeping your animal calm and looking the right way. This applies across Hatch End and Pinner, Carpenders Park and Headstone.
Yes, and it is the most common version of this booking. It needs one more adult than people expect, because somebody has to hold the lead just outside the frame, take the animal away between frames and get its attention over the photographer's shoulder. At Pinner Memorial Park that is easy enough to arrange. Expect the animal in perhaps half the frames and the family in all of them.
Serving Hatch End
Clients come to us from all over Greater London, including Hatch End (HA5). It sits close to Eastcote and North Harrow, which we cover too. We can photograph at the studio or on location in Hatch End, whichever suits you best.
A village-feel corner of Harrow forming the north-eastern part of Pinner, with tree-lined streets and period houses. Served by Hatch End station on the London Overground Lioness line in fare zone 6. For on-location sessions we often head to spots such as Pinner Memorial Park nearby, close to the well-known Harrow Arts Centre and its Elliott Hall on Uxbridge Road.

Two things decide a pet session in Hatch End and neither of them is the weather. The first is that the tree-lined streets, which are the reason the area photographs well for people, are the wrong ground for an animal. They are pavements with parked cars, moving traffic and front gates, which means a lead on throughout and number plates behind every frame. The open grass at Pinner Memorial Park is worth the short move, and a dog session starts there rather than at the house. The second is coat colour, which does more to the plan than any decision about where to go. A black, dark chocolate or liver coat under a full canopy has nothing lifting it, and the face collapses into an outline with no eye, no muzzle and no texture in the fur. The fix is not to add light but to change what is above the animal: out on open grass under a wide bright ceiling, a dark coat picks up a rim along the spine and enough fill in the face for the eyes to read. A pale or white dog wants the reverse and belongs under the tree line, where an open sky would burn the chest to blank paper. Older and anxious animals are better not brought out at all, and are photographed on their own floor in their own room, where nothing has to be negotiated first.
