Nobody works through recitation from the Quran: shutters go silent, feet stop, and we accept whatever that chosen position will give us. Ask your imam beforehand whether he wants a lens pointed his way at all, since plenty would rather the whole thing were recorded from the back wall, which is easily arranged.
The signing is the one part you can influence. Paperwork ends up on a table, tables get pushed against whichever wall is free, and the free wall is usually the ugly one. Ask whether that table can be positioned before the room fills. Whoever holds the pen matters more than where the imam stands, because every eye in the room goes there. Rukhsati happens outside, late, on gravel, and the light for it comes out of our own bags. A walima reverses every one of those constraints: staged, lit, and yours to design.
