Mehndi nights fall earlier in the week under household lamps and coloured uplighters, and they are worked close, at the hands, with the noise left in. Rukhsati is a departure, and nobody should be walked through one of those. Walima is the straightforward part by comparison: hours in one room, speeches, and enough time to work slowly for once.
