Horsham is a West Sussex market town whose pedestrianised Carfax has hosted a market since medieval times and still holds a Saturday market with a bandstand for summer performances. Horsham railway station, on the line to London Victoria and the south coast, has served the town since 1848, with the current listed station building dating from 1938. For pre-wedding and couple portraits, we love spots such as Horsham Park, a large public park with a boating lake close to the town centre, with The Capitol Theatre in the town centre close by for a striking backdrop.

We are ready for the palla, when the bride's father places the sash in the couple's hands before the laavan. The exchange of garlands and the joy of the sangat around the couple are moments we love to photograph. The kirtan and shabads that fill the gurdwara are as much a part of the story as the laavan themselves.

We are glad to cover a single event or the whole multi-day celebration. We photograph the chunni ceremony and the giving of the choora, and the emotion that comes with them. The reception is the joyful finale, with speeches, the first dance, bhangra and giddha.
