We often take couples to Victoria Park in Newbury, beside the River Kennet for a few quiet portraits, and Newbury Racecourse is a lovely backdrop nearby.

At the heart of a Sikh wedding is the Anand Karaj, the blissful union performed before the Guru Granth Sahib. From the milni to the final ardaas, the Anand Karaj tells its own story, and we follow it closely. Before the ceremony the groom's sehra is tied, and we photograph the sehra bandi with a gentle eye.

The doli, when the bride leaves her family home, is the most tender moment of the day. The jaggo night is an evening of music, dancing and pots lit with candles, and we capture all of its energy. We capture the groom's arrival for the milni, surrounded by dancing family and the beat of the dhol.
