Families throughout Marlow, Beaconsfield and Amersham bring us into their gurdwaras, mosques and banqueting halls, and we treat each setting with the respect it is due. As the sindoor is applied and the mangalsutra tied, a Hindu marriage is complete, and we are ready for both of those small, fast gestures.

We photograph the sacred and the joyful with equal care, the vows as faithfully as the bhangra. During the pooja and the fire ceremony we work from the edges with longer lenses, keeping the priest, the flames and the vows undisturbed. We take the time beforehand to understand your customs and the order of your events.

High Wycombe station sits on the Chiltern Main Line towards London Marylebone, with the M40 running close to the town. For relaxed couple photographs, we like The Rye, a riverside park between the River Wye and the Dyke with open grassland and an outdoor pool, and Hughenden Manor, the National Trust country home of former Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli just north of the town gives the day a strong sense of High Wycombe.

For Tamil and South Indian families, the muhurtham and the tying of the thali are the sacred centre of the ceremony. In the gurdwara, the couple circle the Guru Granth Sahib through the four laavan, and we follow that slow procession with the reverence the moment asks for. The garland exchange, when the couple meet with the jaimala, is a moment of pure joy we love to photograph.

The mehndi evening is close and detailed, henna curling across the bride's hands while the room fills with song, and we photograph the artistry and the laughter alike. The dhol and dancing of the baraat are pure joy, and we capture every bit of the energy. The farewell, when the bride leaves her family, is the most tender moment of many Asian weddings.
