Couples come to us from across the Home Counties, and Marlow, Beaconsfield and Amersham are firmly on our patch. From the darbar sahib to the reception floor, we photograph the whole day with a calm, familiar presence.
We are a reassuring, familiar presence in the gurdwara, so the sangat relax and the day flows naturally. We balance documentary coverage with a few quiet portraits, so your album holds both the reverence of the darbar sahib and the energy of the bhangra. Inside the gurdwara we never turn our back to the Guru Granth Sahib, shooting discreetly from the sides and the back.
Much of our work takes us across Buckinghamshire; High Wycombe, a Chilterns town with a large South Asian community and several banqueting venues, and the towns around it, including Marlow, Beaconsfield and Amersham, are very familiar to us. We also cover nearby Aylesbury and Beaconsfield. We are at home at High Wycombe-area venues such as Danesfield House, The Pavilion at Lane End and Crowne Plaza Marlow.
High Wycombe is a Chilterns town with a large South Asian community, including a strong Kashmiri and Pakistani presence, and it hosts an annual Asian Mela on The Rye. High Wycombe station sits on the Chiltern Main Line towards London Marylebone, with the M40 running close to the town. For portraits away from the celebration, The Rye, a riverside park between the River Wye and the Dyke with open grassland and an outdoor pool works beautifully, and Hughenden Manor, the National Trust country home of former Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli just north of the town adds a real sense of place.
