The short answer

Your Asian wedding photographer in Woburn, at a glance

Kaushik Bathia is an award winning Asian wedding photographer based in London, photographing Hindu, Sikh, Gujarati, Muslim and Tamil weddings in Woburn and throughout Bedfordshire for over twenty five years and more than a thousand celebrations. During the pooja and the fire ceremony we work from the edges with longer lenses, keeping the priest, the flames and the vows undisturbed. Whether your wedding in Woburn is Hindu, Sikh, Gujarati, Muslim, Tamil or a fusion of traditions, we know the order of each faith's rituals and cover the whole celebration. We have spent twenty-five years learning the detail of Asian weddings, and it shows in every gallery. You can add a second photographer, a female photographer and hand finished albums, and we are glad to travel across Bedfordshire and beyond, so wherever your celebration is held it is within reach.

Serving Woburn

The story of your Woburn wedding

Woburn is home to the grand Woburn Abbey estate. Families throughout Milton Keynes, Ampthill and Leighton Buzzard bring us into their gurdwaras, mosques and banqueting halls, and we treat each setting with the respect it is due. Whatever your family keeps, Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Gujarati or Tamil, we follow the ritual closely and respectfully.

We photograph the small moments as carefully as the grand ones, the glances as well as the rituals. Multi-day weddings ask for stamina and planning, so we map the running order with you beforehand and pace ourselves to be sharp from the haldi to the last song. Our approach is relaxed and documentary, so you can be present in your own wedding.

Couples come to us from all over the region, and Woburn is home to the grand Woburn Abbey estate, so reaching your venues here is second nature. We also photograph across nearby Luton and Dunstable. Woburn and the towns around it offer venues such as The Sculpture Gallery, The Woburn Hotel and Woburn Safari Park, all familiar to us.

Woburn is a Bedfordshire village at the heart of the Bedford Estate, home for nearly 400 years to the Earls and Dukes of Bedford. Woburn has no railway station, sitting close to the M1 at junction 13, with the nearest rail at Woburn Sands on the Marston Vale line. For pre-wedding and couple portraits, we love spots such as The parkland and deer park of the Woburn Abbey estate, with mature avenues and open grassland, with Woburn Abbey, the country house and family seat of the Duke of Bedford, set in a 3,000 acre deer park close by for a striking backdrop.

What we offer

What is included in your Woburn Asian wedding coverage

01

Documentary Storytelling

Calm, unobtrusive coverage that captures the day as you lived it, never staged.

02

Temple & Gurdwara

We work respectfully inside temples and gurdwaras, reading the space and the customs so your ceremony is never interrupted.

03

Muslim Weddings

The dignity of the nikah and the warmth of the walima, sensitively photographed.

Every tradition

Honouring every faith's customs

Around the sacred fire, the seven steps of the saptapadi bind a Hindu couple together, and we photograph each vow from close enough to feel its weight. At the gurdwara, the couple's walk around the Guru Granth Sahib during each laav is captured with reverence. At a Sikh wedding the exchange of garlands and the palla placed in the couple's hands begin the Anand Karaj, and we follow from the very first hymn.

We photograph the bridal and groom's preparations with a gentle, unobtrusive eye. The reception is the joyful finale, with speeches, the first dance and the bhangra. For Muslim families the walima is a warm celebration in its own right, and we cover it in full.

The whole celebration

The Whole Celebration, From First Day to Last

Whether your family keeps a haldi, a pithi, a mehndi or all of them, we photograph each as you keep it. The mehndi gathering is where the whole family finally lands in one place, and we photograph the reunions, the cups of chai and the henna drying across a dozen hands.

We capture the reception in full, the speeches, the first dance and the bhangra. The best galleries are spread evenly across the day, not saved for the ceremony alone.

Why choose us

Experience that shows in Woburn

Twenty-five years in, we still prepare for each wedding as though it were our first, learning your family's particular customs before we lift a camera. A thousand weddings in, we still find every celebration unique, and photograph it that way.

We cover the whole of the UK for Asian weddings, so distance never stands in the way. We are based in London and think nothing of the drive across Bedfordshire, so travelling to your venues is simply part of how we work.

Good to know

Wedding photography in Woburn, frequently asked questions

Absolutely. The baraat is one of the liveliest parts of the day, whether the groom arrives on a horse, in an open car or on foot amid dhol drummers through the streets of Woburn. We move with the procession to catch the dancing and the greeting, keeping our footing so no moment is lost.

We do. After twenty-five years across Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Gujarati and Tamil weddings, the order of events in each tradition is second nature to us, which means we are always where we need to be for the moments that matter most.

Of course. Whether it is an intimate ceremony with close family or a celebration of several hundred guests, we tailor our coverage to your day and your traditions. Every wedding matters to us, and we bring the same care and attention whatever the size of the gathering.

We can. For weddings in Woburn where the ladies' side is kept private, or where a female photographer is preferred for the bridal preparations, we will arrange one as part of your coverage. Please mention this when you enquire so we can plan the team around your needs.

Yes, these evenings are some of our favourites. The mehndi, sangeet and garba are full of colour, music and family energy, and they set the tone for everything that follows. We record them in a relaxed, observational style so the laughter and dancing come through honestly.

Yes. The vidaai is often the most emotional moment of the day, and we record it with quiet respect, staying at a gentle distance so the family can share it without feeling watched. These are among the most treasured images we deliver from an Asian wedding.

You will receive a preview gallery of favourites soon after the day, with your full edited collection following once we have worked carefully through every event. Multi-day Asian weddings produce a large number of images, so we take the time needed to edit them to a consistent, high standard.
