The mandap, the agni and the pheras

We anticipate the muhurat, the auspicious hour that sets the pace of the ceremony. At the heart of a Hindu wedding is the agni, the sacred fire that witnesses the marriage. The saptapadi, the seven steps the couple take together, seals the marriage, and we photograph it with reverence.

The griha pravesh welcomes the bride into her new home, and we are there for it. We capture the groom's arrival in procession, on a horse or in a car, surrounded by dancing family. We photograph the bridal preparations with a gentle, unobtrusive eye.
