Dunstable is served by the A5 and the guided Luton to Dunstable Busway, and lies close to the M1 at junction 11. For portraits away from the celebration, Dunstable Downs, the highest point in Bedfordshire with sweeping views over the Vale of Aylesbury works beautifully, and The Priory Church of St Peter, a fine example of Norman ecclesiastical architecture founded in 1131 adds a real sense of place.

We photograph the signing of the nikah-nama by the couple and their witnesses with quiet attention. We know the order of the nikah by heart, so we are always in position for each moment. We are mindful of every family's customs at the nikah, Pakistani, Bengali, Arab or Turkish.

We photograph the sanchaq and the exchange of gifts between the families with all of their warmth. We are glad to cover a single event or the whole multi-day celebration. The dholki brings evenings of singing and drumming before the wedding, and we photograph their energy.
