I went the studio for the photoshoot and Mr Batia is proffessional, courteous ,efficient and cheerful. I love my photos and will come again. Highly recommend.
Kaushik did a great job in taking both formal and informal portrait photos. He is an enthusiastic professional photographer who made me feel at ease. The photographs were excellent and have been greatly admired.
Really pleased with my photos. Kaushik is very professional and took lots of picture for us to choose from. Our shoot was comfortable and not too long. I would highly recommend him.

Good to know
Our portrait studio sits midway along the Northwood Hills shopping parade, at The Broadway, 21 Joel St, Northwood HA6 1NU, two minutes' walk from the Metropolitan line at Northwood Hills station. Colindale sitters have a journey of about 7 miles, and there is parking near the door. Sessions are booked in advance.
Choose clothes that fit well and that you feel confident in. Solid colours and soft textures photograph better than busy patterns, fine stripes or big logos. Against the greenery of a Colindale park, a single rich colour stands out well; in the studio, almost anything plain works. Bring a second outfit for a change of mood.
You receive access to an online gallery where you can choose your favourites with no pressure. Kaushik retouches the frames you pick with a natural touch, keeping you recognisably you, then supplies them sized for web and for print. If you want a portrait to hang at home or give as a present, prints, frames, canvases and albums are available to order.
Get a good night's sleep, drink plenty of water and plan any haircut a week or so beforehand so it has time to settle. Press your clothes and bring them on hangers. If you are coming from Colindale, allow extra time for the journey so you arrive relaxed rather than rushed.
Yes. A partner, friend or family member can join for part of the session, which often helps people relax and gives you a few shared pictures alongside your individual portraits. Mention it when you book so the time can be planned to include individual and joint frames without rushing either.
Serving Colindale
Colindale, on the Northern line's Edgware branch, is an easy distance from our Northwood studio. It sits close to Burnt Oak and Mill Hill, which we cover too. Portrait sessions are open to Colindale and the rest of Greater London, held in the studio or at a location you choose.
Colindale, in the London Borough of Barnet, has changed quickly as new homes have gone up around Grahame Park and Colindale Gardens, and a portrait is a good way to mark a fresh start there. Its residents come from many backgrounds, and the portrait style can reflect whatever matters to you. Colindale station, in Zone 4 on the Edgware branch of the Northern line, sits on Colindale Avenue for anyone planning a portrait trip. For on-location sessions we can head to spots such as Montrose Park, close to the well-known the RAF Museum London on Grahame Park Way.
More in Colindale
Every service in Colindale comes from the same Northwood studio, with the same care at each sitting.
Colindale has changed fast, and a lot of people who live there now moved into a new flat around Colindale Gardens or Grahame Park within the last few years. A portrait is a good way to mark that kind of fresh start, and the area has more green space than its new towers suggest. The Silk Stream, a tributary of the River Brent, threads through the district, and Montrose Playing Fields, Silkstream Park, Colindale Park and Heybourne Park all sit within it. Heybourne Park has a pond, which gives a soft reflective backdrop for a calm, unhurried portrait, while the wider fields suit a full-length picture with open sky behind you. Open grass has very little shade, so an outdoor sitting there works far better early or late in the day than at noon, when overhead sun leaves dark hollows under the brows. Clothing in a single strong colour reads well against green; avoid fine stripes, which shimmer on screen. If the weather is unsettled, or you want a cleaner studio look for a profile or a gift, the studio at The Broadway in Northwood Hills is about 7 miles from Colindale. Northwood Hills station on the Metropolitan line is two minutes' walk away, parking is nearby, and the doors open every day of the week, at 13:00 on a Sunday.
