The short answer
For couples marrying in Tring, Kaushik Bathia offers award winning wedding photography, with more than twenty five years of experience and over a thousand weddings behind the camera. Rather than directing every scene, we let your day breathe and photograph it as it happens, stepping in gently only when a group shot needs a little order. Church, civil, country house, barn, marquee or hotel, and every faith, culture and fusion celebration, we are equally at home photographing them all in Tring. Because we have shot in so many settings, we can advise gently on timings and light while planning, which helps the photography sit comfortably within your day. Engagement shoots, a second photographer for busier days and beautiful fine art albums are all part of what we offer, and we travel throughout Hertfordshire and the rest of the UK for your wedding.
Serving Tring
Tring is a Chilterns market town with country-house venues. Marquees in a garden, halls in the city and barns out in the fields all feature in our year, and we cover them throughout Hertfordshire, with Berkhamsted, Wendover and Aylesbury firmly on the map. Some couples marry quietly with a handful of witnesses and others before a full congregation, and we adapt our approach so the coverage suits the scale of your ceremony.
We move calmly through the day, anticipating where the next moment will land, so we are already in place when it happens instead of chasing it. We photograph in a documentary way, recording the day as a story from the morning preparations through to the last dance, with as little interference as possible. The candid frames matter most to us, the glance across a room or a quiet hand held during the vows, and we shoot to keep those honest and unforced.
From our London studio, Tring is an easy and familiar journey. Tring is a Chilterns market town with country-house venues, and we photograph weddings here and throughout the area, including nearby Kings Langley and Abbots Langley. Venues we know well in and near Tring include Pendley Manor and Champneys Tring.
Tring is a Chilterns market town with strong Rothschild family connections, sitting within the Chilterns National Landscape. Tring station is on the West Coast Main Line to London Euston, and the Ridgeway National Trail passes close by. For relaxed couple photographs, we like Tring Park, with its landscaped chalk grassland and woodland, and The Natural History Museum at Tring, founded by Walter Rothschild gives the day a strong sense of Tring.

What we offer
We keep family and group shots efficient and good humoured, so you are back with your guests within minutes.
We photograph what happens rather than direct it, keeping the day honest and letting the real moments lead.
A second pair of eyes covers what one camera cannot, from your partner getting ready to reactions across the room.
Every kind of wedding
We photograph civil ceremonies, religious services and humanist celebrations with the same care, honouring your traditions and the shape your day is meant to take. We photograph readings, rings and the signing of the register with a light hand, blending multicultural or fusion elements naturally when they are part of your day. Whether you marry in a church, a register office or under a canopy in a country garden, we photograph the vows discreetly and with real respect for the setting.
Group shots need not be stiff, and we keep them relaxed and quick, gathering families in good humour so nobody stands about waiting in the sun. From the buttonholes being pinned to the sparklers at the door, we follow the surrounding events of the day and treat each one as part of the same story. Between the set pieces there are portraits of just the two of you, and we keep those short and natural so you can slip back to the party quickly.

The whole celebration
For a first look or a private exchange of gifts before the ceremony, we hold back and let it happen, gathering the picture from a respectful distance. Pre-wedding shoots and welcome events let us meet your closest people early, which means fewer strangers behind the camera when the wedding itself arrives.
We resist rushing, letting each part of the day have its own moment, so the story you keep is complete rather than a run of headline scenes. Rather than chasing every second, we hold the shape of the day, giving each part enough frames to stand on its own later.
Why choose us
Over a thousand couples have trusted us with their wedding, and that depth of experience is why we stay composed when the timing tightens or the weather turns. We back up every set of images in more than one place as soon as the day is done, so your photographs are safe long before your album is made.
From preparations at home to a reception miles away, we keep pace across Berkhamsted, Wendover and Aylesbury and the wider Hertfordshire without missing a moment. From our London base we travel across Hertfordshire and beyond, and multi-venue days are never a problem; we plan the route and timings in advance.

Where we travel
We come to you, wherever the day unfolds, and we are comfortable covering venues throughout Hertfordshire and the surrounding counties. Distance is rarely an issue for us; we regularly drive out to Hertfordshire and further, arriving early so nothing feels rushed.

Good to know
We know plans can change, so if you need to move your date we will always do our best to accommodate you, subject to our availability on the new day. Please let us know as soon as you can, and we will look after you. We aim to be as flexible and understanding as we possibly can.
Nerves are completely normal, and nearly every couple feels the same at first. Because we work mainly in a documentary way, most of the day asks nothing of you, so you soon forget we are there. An engagement shoot beforehand is a gentle way to practise, and by the wedding the camera feels far more familiar.
We would love that. Meeting in person, or over a video call if that is easier, helps you get a feel for how we work and lets us hear all about your plans. There is no pressure at all; it is simply a friendly conversation so you can decide with real confidence.
Awards are a reassurance rather than the whole story. Our five European Gold awards reflect years of consistent, careful work, but what matters most is that you love your own photographs. We are proud of the recognition; even so, your happiness with the finished images will always be the real measure for us.
You are free to print, share and post your images for personal use as much as you like, with no per-print fees. We simply ask that photos are not sold commercially or edited beyond recognition, and that we are credited if you share them publicly. We keep the copyright, which lets us show a few images in our portfolio.
Yes, we ask for a booking fee when you confirm, which reserves your date in our diary and comes off your total balance. The remaining amount is then due a few weeks before the wedding. We will set everything out clearly in writing, so you always know exactly where you stand.
With a little planning, the formal family photographs usually take around twenty to thirty minutes, leaving plenty of time for you to enjoy your guests. We suggest keeping the list to the groups that matter most, as very long lists eat into the celebration. We will guide everyone along warmly and keep things moving.
