Honouring every faith's customs

Every family practises something the family next door does not, and those differences are not decorative. One household hangs its entire day on a mandap and the hour a pandit names for it. Another arranges everything around a single institution's timetable, so the reception is simply whatever follows. A third counts the nikah as the wedding proper, with everything else classed as hospitality. Assume otherwise and your photographer will spend the key hour in entirely the wrong building.

A lecture on your faith is not what we are after. Give us the sequence, the names of the two or three people who genuinely run a room, and a warning about whichever fifteen minutes cannot be missed. The rest will have been read up on before we arrive. A photographer who asks the bride at breakfast what happens next did not prepare, and it will be visible in the edit. Half an hour on a phone call prevents all of that.

Yes, almost boringly so. Long lenses, quiet shutters, nothing on a lighting stand anywhere near the ritual, and we walk in front of nobody. Noticing us while the ceremony runs would mean something has gone wrong.

Do you cover the baraat in Tring?+

Yes. Of everything in a Tring day, that is the piece held outdoors and on the move, so we work it on foot and out in front rather than swallowed by the crowd. Give us the arrival point and we get there first.

How do you keep up with such a fast, packed wedding day?+

By declining to race. Cards, batteries and lenses are sorted before arrival, our meals follow yours, and the schedule dictates where to stand next. Gaps come from hurrying, not from the absence of it.
