The short answer
Kaushik Bathia is an award winning Asian wedding photographer based in London, photographing Hindu, Sikh, Gujarati, Muslim and Tamil weddings in Tring and throughout Hertfordshire for over twenty five years and more than a thousand celebrations. We photograph the elders and the children as closely as the couple, because a wedding is the whole family gathered, not just the two people at the centre. We photograph every Asian wedding tradition in Tring, from the Hindu mandap and pheras to the Sikh Anand Karaj, the Muslim nikah and the Tamil muhurtham, across multi day celebrations. Knowing the running order of a Sikh Anand Karaj, a Gujarati hastamelap or a Tamil muhurtham means we are never caught out by a sudden change of pace. A second photographer for the busiest days, a female photographer where needed and beautiful fine art albums are all part of what we offer, and we travel throughout Hertfordshire for your wedding.
Serving Tring
Tring is a Chilterns market town with country-house venues. Couples come to us from across the Home Counties, and Berkhamsted, Wendover and Aylesbury are firmly on our patch. We learn the sequence of your particular ceremony beforehand, so whether it is Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Gujarati or Tamil, we anticipate each ritual rather than chase it.
We are a reassuring, familiar presence, so everyone relaxes and the day flows naturally. At a nikah we stay respectful and unhurried, letting the signing, the blessings and the quiet joy unfold without asking anyone to pose for us. We let the day unfold at its own pace and meet it with a quiet, watchful eye.
Wherever your venues sit across Tring and the towns beyond it, we plan the route with care. Tring is a Chilterns market town with country-house venues, and we know it, Kings Langley and Abbots Langley alike. Close to Tring, we have worked at venues including Pendley Manor and Champneys Tring.
Tring is a Chilterns market town with strong Rothschild family connections, sitting within the Chilterns National Landscape. Tring station is on the West Coast Main Line to London Euston, and the Ridgeway National Trail passes close by. For relaxed couple photographs, we like Tring Park, with its landscaped chalk grassland and woodland, and The Natural History Museum at Tring, founded by Walter Rothschild gives the day a strong sense of Tring.

What we offer
A sneak preview soon after the wedding, with your full gallery and album to follow.
The speeches, the first dance and the bhangra, captured to the very last guest.
We photograph the signing, the vows and the quiet words between families with the care the ceremony calls for.
Every tradition
The blessings of parents and elders draw many ceremonies to a close, hands resting on heads in benediction, and we hold those tender moments gently. Whatever your family keeps, Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Gujarati or Tamil, we follow the ritual closely and respectfully. We keep our distance during the most solemn moments and step in only for the joyful ones.
When the baraat sets off, the dhol drives the dancing and the groom moves slowly forward amid his family, and we are in the thick of every joyful step. For Gujarati families the garba and raas fill an evening with circling colour and movement, and we love following the dandiya sticks and the swirling skirts. The bride's farewell, as she leaves her parents' home, is the most tender passage of many Asian weddings, and we photograph it with the gentleness it deserves.

The whole celebration
A garba fills the room with movement, and we photograph the sway of it without asking anyone to pause, letting the colour and the circles of dancing lead the frame. The pre-wedding events frequently span several days, each with its own mood.
We photograph the ceremony, the portraits and the reception in balance, so each is given its due. A wedding that moves between temple, hall and reception needs coverage that moves with it, and we handle those transitions so your day reads as one story, not three.
Why choose us
Over a thousand celebrations have taught us when to step in close and when to stand quietly back. We have built our reputation on reliability, warmth and a genuine love of the work.
We cover the whole of the UK for Asian weddings, so distance never stands in the way. Distance is never a problem; travelling to your venues is simply part of how we work.

Where we travel
We cover the Home Counties and beyond, and are glad to travel further afield on request. From our London base, Tring and the rest of Hertfordshire are an easy, familiar journey.

Good to know
We do. An engagement or pre-wedding shoot lets you relax in front of the camera ahead of the celebration, and we are happy to set one up at a location you love.
Yes, and it is one of the parts of a Tring wedding we most enjoy. We capture the dhol, the dancing and the groom's arrival, along with the milni as the two families meet, with all of its energy.
Yes, and we enjoy the variety a fusion day brings. Whether you are combining a Hindu ceremony with a civil service, or a Sikh and Muslim family coming together, we respect the customs of each side. We plan the timeline carefully so both traditions are given equal attention.
Yes, thoroughly. Twenty-five years of Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Gujarati and Tamil weddings in Tring and across the wider area mean we know how each tradition's day runs, so we stay in position for every moment that matters.
Yes. We can begin with the mehndi and sangeet earlier in the week and carry through to the main ceremony and reception, giving your whole celebration a single, consistent visual story. Where the mehndi is a ladies-only event, a female photographer can cover it for you.
Yes. We photograph the muhurtham, the tying of the thali and the many rituals of a Tamil or South Indian wedding, and we understand their early timings and their sequence.
Many times. Asian weddings bring together dhol drummers, decorators, caterers and entertainers, and we know how to work alongside them without getting in each other's way. Good coordination on the day keeps things flowing, and it means we are always in the right place when something happens.
