The short answer
Kaushik Bathia is an award winning Asian wedding photographer based in London, photographing Hindu, Sikh, Gujarati, Muslim and Tamil weddings in Shenley and throughout Hertfordshire for over twenty five years and more than a thousand celebrations. Our approach is relaxed and documentary, so you can be present in your own wedding. Whether your wedding in Shenley is Hindu, Sikh, Gujarati, Muslim, Tamil or a fusion of traditions, we know the order of each faith's rituals and cover the whole celebration. We bring the steadiness that only comes from photographing weddings for twenty-five years. A second photographer for the busiest days, a female photographer where needed and beautiful fine art albums are all part of what we offer, and we travel throughout Hertfordshire for your wedding.
Serving Shenley
Shenley is a village with country-house wedding venues. We regularly photograph Asian weddings throughout Radlett, Borehamwood and London Colney and the surrounding part of Hertfordshire. At a Muslim wedding, the nikah and the signing of the contract carry great dignity, and we cover them with respect.
We are at ease with large, multi-day celebrations and intimate ceremonies alike. We are a reassuring, familiar presence, so everyone relaxes and the day flows naturally. We anticipate each ritual, whatever the tradition, so the key moments are never missed.
Much of our year is spent out across Hertfordshire, and Shenley is a village with country-house wedding venues, a place we return to often for Hindu, Sikh and Muslim celebrations. Nearby London Colney and Ware are on our patch as well. In and around Shenley, we have photographed at venues such as London Shenley Club and Shenley Cricket Centre.
Shenley is a Hertfordshire village with country-house wedding venues and an unusual eighteenth century village lock-up known as the Cage beside its pond. Shenley lies close to the A1(M) and M25, with the nearest railway station at Radlett on the Thameslink route. We often take couples to Shenley Park, with its walled garden, orchard and open parkland for a few quiet portraits, and Salisbury Hall, a Grade II* listed country house built in the seventeenth century is a lovely backdrop nearby.

What we offer
We work respectfully inside temples and gurdwaras, reading the space and the customs so your ceremony is never interrupted.
Respectful, unobtrusive coverage in temples, gurdwaras and mosques.
Whether Hindu, Sikh, Gujarati, Muslim or Tamil, we know the rituals well enough to anticipate each one before it happens.
Every tradition
At the gurdwara, the couple's walk around the Guru Granth Sahib during each laav is captured with reverence. For Tamil and South Indian families, the muhurtham and the tying of the thali are the sacred centre of the ceremony. At a Gujarati mandap we know the hastamelap and the four mangal pheras, and we photograph them in the order your priest keeps rather than a generic script.
We photograph the milni, when the two families meet, with all of its warmth. Preparations hold a quiet anticipation of their own, and we photograph the jewellery, the tying of the turban and the last still moments before the day begins. The mehndi evening is close and detailed, henna curling across the bride's hands while the room fills with song, and we photograph the artistry and the laughter alike.

The whole celebration
Whether your family keeps a haldi, a pithi, a mehndi or all of them, we photograph each as you keep it. Getting ready is rarely calm, and that is exactly what we love, so we work softly through the jewellery, the draping and the small nerves that come before you step out.
For the busiest days, a second photographer covers two moments at once, the baraat and the preparations. The reception has its own tempo, softer at first and then loud, and we read that shift so the speeches, the first dance and the late-night floor all feel complete.
Why choose us
Experience is not only knowing the rituals; it is knowing when a grandmother will cry and where the light will fall, and being ready for both. We have spent twenty-five years learning the detail of Asian weddings, and it shows in every gallery.
We are glad to talk through your venues and the journeys between them when you first enquire, so the logistics are settled long before the day. Wherever your events take place across the Home Counties, we will be there in good time.

Where we travel
We factor in travel and timings carefully, so we are always where we need to be. We travel happily across Hertfordshire and the surrounding counties for the whole celebration.

Good to know
Yes. Many Asian weddings run across several days, from the mehndi and sangeet through to the main ceremony and reception, and we are happy to cover the full sequence in Shenley. We agree the schedule with you in advance so nothing important is missed, and a second photographer joins for the busier days.
We can. For weddings in Shenley where the ladies' side is kept private, or where a female photographer is preferred for the bridal preparations, we will arrange one as part of your coverage. Please mention this when you enquire so we can plan the team around your needs.
Yes. The vidaai is often the most emotional moment of the day, and we record it with quiet respect, staying at a gentle distance so the family can share it without feeling watched. These are among the most treasured images we deliver from an Asian wedding.
Asian receptions often carry on well into the evening, and we plan our coverage to see the day through to the moments that matter to you. We agree the finishing point in advance, and if the celebration overruns we will always discuss options rather than simply pack away.
We photograph weddings across Hertfordshire and throughout the UK, so travelling to Shenley is no trouble at all. We are based near London but regularly work well beyond it. Tell us your venue and date, and we will confirm everything, including any travel arrangements, in writing.
We do. After twenty-five years across Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Gujarati and Tamil weddings, the order of events in each tradition is second nature to us, which means we are always where we need to be for the moments that matter most.
We design fine-art albums built to last, with thick pages and archival printing that suits the richness of an Asian wedding. We lay out the story across the days and share a proof with you before anything is printed, so every spread reflects your family and your celebration.
