Serving Hitchin

Every Asian tradition, photographed in Hitchin

Hitchin is a characterful market town. Across Letchworth, Stevenage and Luton and the rest of Hertfordshire, we cover the mehndi, the ceremony and the reception with a careful eye. Your celebration in Hitchin is in experienced hands, from the first event to the last dance.

We are a reassuring, familiar presence, so everyone relaxes and the day flows naturally. We work discreetly around the priest, the granthi or the imam, never intruding on a sacred moment. We move quietly through the day, capturing the real moments rather than staging them.

Whether your celebration is in Hitchin itself or elsewhere in Hertfordshire, we plan travel and timings with care. Hitchin is a characterful market town. We also photograph in nearby Borehamwood and Potters Bar. Venues we have photographed at near Hitchin include The Barns at Redcoats, Hitchin Priory and Hitchin Town Hall.

Hitchin is a characterful market town with a medieval street plan, a twice weekly market and the well known lavender fields on its edge. Hitchin station is on the East Coast Main Line and Great Northern route to London King's Cross. We often take couples to Hitchin Lavender at Cadwell Farm, and Windmill Hill above the town for a few quiet portraits, and St Mary's Church, the largest parish church in Hertfordshire is a lovely backdrop nearby.

Every tradition

One studio, every Asian tradition

The muhurat and muhurtham, the auspicious hours, set the pace of the ceremony, and we plan around them. The blessings of the elders close many ceremonies, and we capture them with warmth. At the gurdwara, the couple's walk around the Guru Granth Sahib during each laav is captured with reverence.

The mehndi night, the sangeet and the haldi each carry their own mood, and we photograph them all. The haldi or pithi is full of colour and play, and often holds the warmest, most natural moments. The reception is the joyful finale, with speeches, the first dance and the bhangra.

The whole celebration

Your celebration in Hitchin, day by day

A multi-day Asian wedding can run across three or four days, and we plan our coverage around all of them. Whether your family keeps a haldi, a pithi, a mehndi or all of them, we photograph each as you keep it.

The wedding day itself is a journey, from the groom's arrival and the milni to the vows and the reception. We stay through the evening to capture the reception, from the grand entrance to the last dance.
