As the sindoor is applied and the mangalsutra tied, a Hindu marriage is complete, and we are ready for both of those small, fast gestures. Whatever your family keeps, Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Gujarati or Tamil, we follow the ritual closely and respectfully. We work quietly around the priest, the granthi or the imam so the ceremony is never disturbed.

For Muslim families the walima is a generous celebration in its own right, and we cover it as fully as the nikah that precedes it. From the turmeric of the haldi to the music of the sangeet, the events set the tone for the wedding. For Gujarati families the garba and raas fill an evening with circling colour and movement, and we love following the dandiya sticks and the swirling skirts.
