The short answer

Your Asian wedding photographer in Wokingham, at a glance

An award winning, London based Asian wedding photographer, Kaushik Bathia has spent more than twenty five years photographing Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Gujarati and Tamil weddings in Wokingham and across Berkshire. Multi-day weddings ask for stamina and planning, so we map the running order with you beforehand and pace ourselves to be sharp from the haldi to the last song. From the mehndi and sangeet to the baraat, the ceremony and the reception, we photograph every part of an Asian wedding in and around Wokingham with knowledge and care. Decades of weddings mean we read the day instinctively and never miss the moments that matter. A second photographer, a female photographer for segregated events and hand finished fine art albums are all available, and we travel across Berkshire and the wider UK so distance is never a problem.

Serving Wokingham

Asian wedding photographer in Wokingham

Wokingham is a market town in leafy Berkshire. We travel throughout Reading, Bracknell and Henley for Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Gujarati and Tamil weddings, at home in temples, gurdwaras, mosques and banqueting suites alike. The muhurat and muhurtham, the auspicious hours, set the pace of the ceremony, and we plan around them.

We keep our kit discreet and our footsteps light, so the record of your day is made of real moments rather than everyone looking at a lens. A female photographer is available for the getting-ready hours and any moments where the women of the family would prefer a woman behind the camera. Our style is unobtrusive, so the day feels like yours and never a photoshoot.

Wherever your venues are across Wokingham and Berkshire, we plan the route and the timings in advance. Wokingham is a market town in leafy Berkshire. We also photograph in nearby Newbury and Ascot. Close to Wokingham, we have worked at venues including Stokes Farm Barn, Sindlesham Court and Cantley House Hotel.

Wokingham is a market town in central Berkshire with a historic town centre featuring Tudor and Georgian buildings around the Market Place. Wokingham railway station lies at the junction of the Waterloo to Reading line and the North Downs Line, managed by South Western Railway. For relaxed couple photographs, we like Dinton Pastures Country Park near Wokingham, and Wokingham Town Hall in the Market Place gives the day a strong sense of Wokingham.

The Baraat

The dhol, the dancing and the groom's joyful arrival, photographed with all of its energy.

Every tradition

Holding Each Ritual as Its Own Moment

Around the sacred fire, the seven steps of the saptapadi bind a Hindu couple together, and we photograph each vow from close enough to feel its weight. At a Hindu wedding, the pheras around the sacred fire seal the marriage, and we capture them close. We are mindful of every family's customs at the ceremony, and photograph them exactly as they happen.

The mehndi night, the sangeet and the haldi each carry their own mood, and we photograph them all. The dhol player sets the pulse of the baraat, and we work close to the drum and the dancers so the picture carries the sound within it. When the baraat sets off, the dhol drives the dancing and the groom moves slowly forward amid his family, and we are in the thick of every joyful step.

The whole celebration

Following the Days as They Naturally Unfold

Long before the ceremony begins, the mehndi and sangeet carry their own energy, and we are there quietly to catch the henna, the music and the laughter as they unfold. The sangeet brings an evening of rehearsed dances and late-night music before the wedding day itself.

By the time the dancing starts, we have already learned your family, so the reception frames feel easy and familiar rather than a scramble to catch strangers in the dark. We photograph the ceremony, the portraits and the reception in balance, so each is given its due.

Good to know

Wedding photography in Wokingham, frequently asked questions

Very well. We recognise the key stages under the mandap, including the kanyadaan, the joining of hands, the pheras around the sacred fire and the sindoor. Because we anticipate these moments rather than react to them, your photographs feel calm and natural rather than staged.

Our approach is documentary at heart. We follow the day as it happens, recording the rituals, the emotion and the small in-between moments rather than interrupting them. We will guide you gently for family groups and a few portraits, but the story of the day is told honestly.

Asian receptions often carry on well into the evening, and we plan our coverage to see the day through to the moments that matter to you. We agree the finishing point in advance, and if the celebration overruns we will always discuss options rather than simply pack away.

Yes, of course. Being London-based, we are used to travelling to venues of every kind, and reaching Wokingham is no trouble at all. Hindu, Sikh, Gujarati, Muslim and Tamil weddings are our speciality, so distance never stands in the way of covering your day.

Yes. We regularly work in the larger banqueting halls that host Asian weddings, and we are happy to cover an event at a venue in Wokingham. We like to know the room in advance where possible, so we can plan for the lighting and the scale of the day.

Yes, thoroughly. Twenty-five years of Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Gujarati and Tamil weddings in Wokingham and across the wider area mean we know how each tradition's day runs, so we stay in position for every moment that matters.

Yes, we are comfortable photographing at temples and are happy to travel to Wokingham for a ceremony there. We take the time to understand the customs of the particular mandir, so we can work respectfully within its rules while still recording the day fully for you.
