Where ceremonial authority rests differs by tradition, and that shifts where a camera belongs far more than any decorative difference does. In one, an officiant's voice structures the hour and we take our cues from him. In another, the room orients itself towards a fixed point and there is a line between the congregation and that point which nobody crosses. We establish which arrangement applies before planning anything, because guessing produces exactly the wrong instinct at the worst possible time.

The evening is its own commission in practice. Different clothes, different building, artificial light from start to finish, plus a schedule that slips further with every hour that passes. A mandap standing since breakfast is no help whatsoever at nine at night. So each event gets treated on its own terms, the lighting rebuilt from nothing every time, and no assumption carried over that yesterday's approach will work a second time.
