The kanyadaan, when a father places his daughter's hand in her husband's, is quiet and full of feeling, and we frame it without ever intruding. For Gujarati families the garba and the raas fill the evening with colour and movement, and we love photographing them. The mehndi or henna night is intimate and detailed, and we photograph both the henna and the laughter around it.
