We work discreetly at the back and the sides of the darbar sahib, so the Anand Karaj is never disturbed. Before the ceremony the groom's sehra is tied, and we photograph the sehra bandi with a gentle eye. Heads covered and seated on the floor with the sangat, we photograph the laavan without ever intruding.

We capture the lively milni as the two families meet, with the garlands, the dhol and the embraces. The maiyan, when turmeric is applied, is full of colour and play, and often holds the warmest moments. The pre-wedding events are often where the most natural photographs come from, and we give them full attention.
