The short answer
Kaushik Bathia has photographed Asian weddings across Greater London for over twenty five years, and couples in Westminster choose him for calm, knowledgeable coverage of every tradition, backed by five European Gold awards. We photograph the small moments as carefully as the grand ones, the glances as well as the rituals. Whether your wedding in Westminster is Hindu, Sikh, Gujarati, Muslim, Tamil or a fusion of traditions, we know the order of each faith's rituals and cover the whole celebration. Every tradition has a moment that photographs badly if you are half a second late, and knowing all of them is what a quarter of a century buys you. A second photographer, and we travel across Greater London and the wider UK so distance is never a problem.
Central London logistics decide almost everything about an Asian wedding in this borough, from where a baraat can realistically gather to how long a group photograph in St James's Park can take. Jubilee, District and Circle line services help guests, but cars do not. Whether the day turns on a baraat, a doli or a rukhsati at the close of it, timings need to be tighter here than almost anywhere, and anyone staying in Mayfair, Pimlico or Marylebone should be given generous travel windows.
Serving Westminster
Westminster is the central London borough at the heart of the capital. We are as at ease in a small community temple as in a five-hundred-cover banqueting suite, throughout Camden, Kensington and Chelsea and the rest of Greater London. In the gurdwara, the couple circle the Guru Granth Sahib through the four laavan, and we follow that slow procession with the reverence the moment asks for.
Where a masjid or gurdwara sets rules about where we may stand, we learn them from the committee beforehand and work happily within them. For the jaimala and the joota chupai we stay close to the fun, because these lighter rituals carry as much of the family's character as the solemn ones. We cover both families equally, making sure the groom's side and the bride's side each come away with a full record of their own people and their own moments.
Westminster is the central London borough at the heart of the capital, and we love photographing Asian weddings among its community, having worked here across every tradition. We regularly cover Lambeth and Southwark nearby as well. Westminster and the towns around it offer venues such as One Great George Street, One Whitehall Place and Raffles London at The OWO.
The central London borough at the heart of the capital, home to national government and world-famous royal buildings. Served by Westminster Underground station on the Jubilee, District and Circle lines. We often take couples to St James's Park, a royal park with a lake, pelicans and views to Buckingham Palace for a few quiet portraits, and The Palace of Westminster and Big Ben beside the River Thames is a lovely backdrop nearby.

What we offer
We give the grandparents, aunties and uncles the time they deserve, holding the generations that make your day what it is.
As you circle the sacred fire, we photograph each round and the blessing that follows without ever crowding the mandap.
The speeches, the first dance and the bhangra, captured to the very last guest.
Every tradition
Tying the thali at a Tamil muhurtham happens within an auspicious window measured in minutes, and everything about our morning is arranged around being ready for it. At a Muslim wedding, the nikah and the signing of the contract carry great dignity, and we cover them with respect. Ganesh puja opens most Hindu ceremonies quietly, long before the guests have settled, and we are already there for it rather than arriving with the crowd.
Mayian and the yellow-clothed rituals before a Punjabi wedding are full of colour, and we photograph the ritual and the food being prepared alongside it. Sangeet performances are rehearsed for weeks and deserve covering properly, so we shoot each act in full rather than grabbing a single frame per dance. Dandiya sticks move fast and unpredictably, and a clean frame of them means learning the rhythm of the circle before ever raising the camera.

The whole celebration
Many families hold an engagement long before the wedding, and a mehndi or sangeet the night before. We tailor the hours to your events, whether it is one key day or a long weekend of celebrations.
On the wedding day, the baraat, the ceremony and the vows build to the farewell and the reception. Long days test everyone, so we keep our footing calm and our timing steady, catching the guru's words, the shared glances and the quiet exhale once the vows are done.
Why choose us
Over a thousand celebrations have taught us when to step in close and when to stand quietly back. Being able to name the rite unfolding in front of you is the difference between anticipating the kanyadaan and finding out it happened while you changed a lens.
We photograph weddings throughout London and the surrounding area, and Westminster is firmly within the area we cover. We are used to celebrations spread across several venues, and keep the day flowing between them.

Where we travel
Distance rarely enters our thinking; we plan the route, allow for the traffic and arrive in good time wherever your events are held. We cover London and the surrounding area and beyond, and are glad to travel further afield on request.

Good to know
Yes, always with care. We photograph respectfully in the temples, gurdwaras and mosques of Westminster, as well as mandaps, marquees and banqueting halls. Staying quietly to one side of the priest, granthi or imam, often working with a long lens, we make sure the ceremony is never disturbed.
We would suggest as early as you can manage. Peak and auspicious dates book up well ahead across all traditions, so an early enquiry pays off. Tell us your wedding date and which events you intend to hold, and we will confirm whether we are free without delay. In and around Westminster that has included One Great George Street and One Whitehall Place.
Yes. We work regularly in the larger banqueting halls that host Asian weddings, and covering an event at a venue in Westminster is something we are glad to do. Wherever possible we like to know the room beforehand, so we can plan for its lighting and the scale of the day.
Absolutely. An intimate ceremony among close relatives receives exactly the same devotion from us as a party of hundreds. We tailor our approach to your day and its customs, because the scale never changes how much each wedding means to us or the care we bring to it. We know Westminster well, including The Palace of Westminster and Big Ben beside the River Thames.
We are. The Anand Karaj and the four laavan in the gurdwara are photographed with the calm the Guru Granth Sahib deserves, and we are just as familiar with the milni and the reception that surround the ceremony. We cover Westminster and nearby Mayfair, Pimlico and Marylebone.
Yes. We photograph the nikah and walima with real care for the customs of the day, working discreetly through the signing of the contract and the exchange of vows. For Westminster bookings the nearest link is served by Westminster Underground station on the Jubilee, District and Circle lines.
Yes, and we enjoy the variety a fusion day brings. Whether you are combining a Hindu ceremony with a civil service, or a Sikh and Muslim family coming together, we respect the customs of each side. We plan the timeline carefully so both traditions are given equal attention. For outdoor photographs in Westminster we often use St James's Park, a royal park with a lake, pelicans and views to Buckingham Palace.
