It might be beneath a canopy; it might be a threshold crossed; it might be a pen moving across paper while two witnesses watch. Whichever it proves to be, that minute fixes where we stand throughout, and every other choice made in the room follows from keeping the line to it clear.

A palki carried out of a building moves, the light around it changes, and a crowd comes with it, so exposure gets locked before anybody lifts anything and we travel in front of it, backwards. Indoors the opposite discipline applies: choose one position, hold it, and let a longer focal length do the moving. Sangeet, the night before, is the loudest thing you will photograph and the least scripted of all of it, which wants width and a high tolerance for visible grain.

Yes, and they matter more to your parents than anything else we shoot. The trick is doing them straight after the ceremony, before the room empties, rather than hunting people down once the bar opens and the day has scattered.

Do you provide a second photographer?+

We can bring one, and for a day where two things happen in two buildings at once it earns its cost. For one venue with a linear running order it usually does not. Send the schedule over and the answer becomes obvious.

Do you offer engagement or pre-wedding shoots?+

Yes. The photographs are almost a by product; the value is an hour of being looked at through a lens, so that on the wedding day neither of you meets a camera cold in front of four hundred people.

How long after the wedding will we receive our photographs?+

Something small arrives quickly, within days, while the talking is still going on. The full edit takes some weeks after that, because colour work spanning several buildings and several evenings shows badly when it is hurried.

What happens if our wedding runs late into the night?+

Then we stay, provided we have agreed the extension beforehand. Late hours are the easy part technically, since the light has stopped changing. What we would rather avoid is being asked at midnight when the diary already has tomorrow in it.
