Rooms fall properly silent at the important part, silent enough that a mechanical shutter carries, so ours switches to electronic well before the imam speaks, not after a head turns.
The walima works the opposite way. It is loud, it is later, it is often in a different building altogether, and by then all the light is artificial, which at least makes it consistent. Mehndi, on its own separate evening, is where the colour lives and the one occasion in the sequence where a photographer can be openly present. Rukhsati finishes things outdoors and finishes them fast, so the spot is picked in advance and held, never chased.
