Southwark is a historic riverside borough in central London. We photograph Muslim weddings across Greater London, including Lambeth, Lewisham, at mosques, banqueting halls and marquees. A female second photographer is available for the ladies' side wherever your celebration is held.

We respect gender-segregated celebrations and plan our coverage of the men's and ladies' sides with care. We keep the calm of the nikah and the energy of the walima and dholki in equal measure. We work discreetly around the imam or qazi, never intruding on the ijab-e-qubool or the dua.

When there is time for couple portraits, Southwark Park, a Victorian park in Rotherhithe with lake and rose garden is a favourite, and Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe theatre on the Bankside riverfront makes a memorable setting.

From mehndi to rukhsati

We photograph the blessings and the prayers of the imam with reverence. From the ijab-e-qubool to the dua, the ceremony tells its own story, and we follow it closely. The ijab-e-qubool, the proposal and acceptance said three times, seals the marriage, and we capture it with care.

The dholki brings evenings of singing and drumming before the wedding, and we photograph their energy. We capture the lively baraat as the groom arrives, with the family and the celebration around him. Where the celebrations are segregated, we cover the men's and ladies' sides with equal care.
