Southwark and nearby
A meeting place at one of the park entrances gets fixed first, then we work roughly an hour on foot, shifting across a handful of positions instead of staying rooted to one. Frames appear on a laptop while the session is still running, so you already know what exists before we part company.
Editing removes a blemish that will not exist next month and leaves everything permanent exactly as it is. Finished files arrive in two forms, one heavy enough to print properly and one light enough to drop straight into a profile.

What we offer
Portrait sittings photographed outdoors around Southwark, or under your own roof when the sky refuses to cooperate.
An hour on foot, a handful of backgrounds, and every frame reviewed on a laptop before we leave.
Individual sittings, couples and arranged family groups, all quoted and delivered on exactly identical terms.
Why choose us
We take a few safe, classic frames first, then relax into something more natural once you have found your feet. Actors are directed differently from everybody else. Instead of a smile you are given a thought to hold, because casting reads the eyes long before it reads the mouth.
Albums are designed around a sequence rather than a collection, so a graduation or a couple sitting reads as a short story instead of a pile of prints. There is no obligation to smile in every frame. A quiet, level expression often makes the stronger portrait, particularly for actors and for older sitters.

Good to know
Two things. Choose footwear you are content to walk park paths in, because we move between a couple of positions instead of planting ourselves on one. And pack an alternative top in a different colour: what suits the rose garden rarely suits open water. If the roses matter to you, check they are actually out before the date is fixed, since outside their weeks that bed is bare stems.
Yes. Southwark Park has the room for one, and we position the group where the ground is level and the background is wide enough to take everybody. Give us the headcount at booking, because eight people need a different background and a different position from three. We take the arranged frame first while attention is fresh, then break the group into smaller combinations afterwards.
Yes. Southwark is squarely within our coverage, along with Bermondsey, Rotherhithe and Peckham next door. We travel to you, so the whole sitting takes place in the borough and nobody makes the journey out to Northwood. Southwark Park is the usual outdoor choice; if the sky is hopeless we work under your own roof instead.
Yes. Personal-branding sessions are planned around how you want to be seen, whether that is approachable, creative or authoritative. You come away with a varied set of confident images for your website, profiles and wider professional presence, all shot with flattering, professional lighting. Getting to Southwark is straightforward for us: served by London Bridge station and Southwark Underground station on the Jubilee line.
Absolutely. Actor and model portfolios are a real strength of ours. We create range across your book, mixing clean commercial frames with more characterful, expressive ones. Understanding what casting directors need, we guide you gently through the different poses and expressions as we go. For outdoor photographs in Southwark we would suggest Southwark Park, a Victorian park in Rotherhithe with lake and rose garden.
Serving Southwark
We photograph portrait sessions right across London, and Southwark (Greater London) is well within our regular patch. It sits close to Lambeth and Lewisham, which we cover too. You are always welcome at the Northwood studio too.
A historic riverside borough in central London known for its cultural quarter along the South Bank and the vibrant Borough Market food scene. Served by London Bridge station and Southwark Underground station on the Jubilee line. For relaxed outdoor photographs around Southwark, we like Southwark Park, and Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe theatre on the Bankside riverfront is a well-known local backdrop.

Southwark Park in Rotherhithe is where most sittings in this borough end up, and the reason is how a Victorian park was laid out rather than how big it is. It was built as a run of separate set pieces, a lake in one place and a rose garden in another, so two quite unlike backgrounds sit inside a single short walk. A sitting that has stalled in front of planting can simply carry on at the water, and nobody gets back into a car to do it. The rose garden deserves honesty. It is a background for the weeks the roses are up, and outside those weeks it is a bed of cut stems photographing as clutter behind a head. Book it in season or use something else. Open water is the steadier choice, since it reads as a smooth pale field behind the shoulders in February as readily as in June. Clothing follows from whatever ends up behind you, and on a riverfront of historic buildings that is worth deciding early. White beside a weathered wall drags attention straight off the face, and a dense black jacket sinks into that wall until the shoulders vanish. Anything sitting between those two extremes survives both. The Bankside riverfront, with Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe along it, makes a strong background at a genuine cost: an open embankment offers no canopy at all, which on a bright afternoon leaves nowhere to step into shade and a face lit hard from straight overhead. Cloud is not a disappointment on that stretch of river. It is the condition the place was waiting for.
