Lambeth and nearby
We begin with nothing much happening: lead attached, camera lowered, a few minutes of standing about. That part is deliberate. A dog that has concluded we are boring is a dog that can be photographed. The lead comes off, if it comes off at all, only once the animal has stopped watching us.
What you receive is a set finished by hand, the still frames and, where recall allows it, the moving ones, on a private link. A line in shot is no obstacle, since it lifts out afterwards without leaving a trace.

What we offer
Dog sessions in Lambeth on ground your dog walks anyway, at the quiet end of the day.
Nervous and elderly animals photographed slowly, from further back, with nothing demanded that they have not offered.
Files sized so the good one can go on a wall, not just on a phone.
Why choose us
Distance and a longer lens suit horses, since standing close distorts the head badly and a horse in a stable rarely enjoys being crowded by a stranger. Cats are photographed at home far more often than in a studio, because a cat carried into a strange room will spend the whole hour under a chair.
Cats are photographed on their own furniture wherever possible, since a windowsill or a favourite chair produces a far more honest picture than any backdrop. Family portraits with the pet included are a lovely option, so everyone, four legs and two, is in the frame.

Good to know
Yes. Alongside your edited digital gallery, we offer fine prints, framed pictures and canvases, so your favourite images can go straight onto the wall at home in Lambeth. We are glad to help you choose sizes and finishes that suit your rooms.
Very. With twenty-five years behind the lens and thousands of sessions, we have photographed dogs, cats, horses and small pets of every age and temperament. That experience means a calm, quick and gentle presence that puts even anxious animals at ease. Locally in Lambeth that takes in Lambeth Palace, the London residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Budget an hour from start to finish. Perhaps half of that involves the camera at all. Dogs are best early on. We would rather stop at forty minutes with an animal still enjoying itself than push to ninety and fill the last frames with a tired dog. A cat or a rabbit at home takes less than that, and never leaves one room.
The room is at The Broadway, 21 Joel St, Northwood HA6. It is not, however, where your dog gets photographed. Dogs do better on ground they already walk, so we come down to the borough instead. The exception is a small or anxious animal that needs a quiet room and no distractions, and from this far south that is a rare booking indeed.
Very little at all. A good walk before you leave Lambeth can settle an excitable dog, and a slightly hungry pet is often keener on treats. Bring a favourite toy, and otherwise just let your animal be itself. We handle the patience, the play and the timing.
Serving Lambeth
We photograph pet sessions right across London, and Lambeth (Greater London) is well within our regular patch. It sits close to Southwark and Wandsworth, which we cover too. You are always welcome at the Northwood studio too.
A diverse south London borough stretching from Waterloo to Streatham, with Brixton at its heart and a strong Caribbean heritage. Served by Waterloo and Vauxhall stations and the Victoria and Northern lines. When a session suits an outdoor setting, Brockwell Park near Herne Hill and Brixton is a favourite near Lambeth, close to Lambeth Palace.
More in Lambeth
The same studio, experience and personal care apply to every service we offer in Lambeth. Explore the rest: We also cover pet photography across London, including Westminster, Barking and Dagenham, Richmond upon Thames, Newham, Merton and the City of London.
Brockwell Park is where a Lambeth dog session would go, though the lead question is yours to answer rather than ours, and it matters less than people expect. A long training line can stay on for a dog with patchy recall and be edited out later without anyone noticing; what a line cannot survive is a dog coming at speed towards the lens, so recall really decides whether the pictures move or stand still. Coat colour decides more. A dark dog under trees matches the tone of everything behind it and the outline simply vanishes, so dark coats belong on open grass with the light arriving from one side, photographed low enough that most of what sits behind the dog is sky rather than shadow. Pale coats bring the opposite difficulty, and do better in the shade a dark one has no use for. Nerves count for more here than they would in a quiet town. This is a borough with two big stations in it and a park that plenty of local dogs use, so an animal that flinches at strangers or squares up to others is booked into the emptiest part of the morning and photographed at a distance, on a long lens, with nobody standing over it. An old dog gets the reverse treatment again: we stay put and let the pictures come to us, because walking is what tires them and not the camera. A wet week pushes us onto the firmer paths, since open ground here stays soft for days.

How it works
Lambeth is outside easy reach of our Northwood studio, so we bring the shoot to you. Weddings, events, team headshots, branding and product work are all photographed on location, with lighting brought in as needed. If you would rather use the studio you are very welcome.
