Your pet photographer in Richmond upon Thames

The camera stays low for most of a session, which means kneeling on whatever the park is offering that morning. Toys and food come out of a bag only when attention drops, never at the start, since an animal already paid up front has nothing left to work towards.

We finish when the animal is done rather than when a clock says so, and a short session with a willing dog beats a long one with a fed-up dog every time.

What we offer

Pet photography in Richmond upon Thames

01

Pets With Their Owners

Dog sessions at Richmond Park, on grass the animal already walks, with a long line for recall.

02

Senior Pets

Cats, rabbits and elderly pets photographed at home, in brief spells, with proper breaks between them.

03

Welcoming Studio

Dark coats exposed for the fur rather than the field, so fur detail survives the frame.

Local and experienced

Why owners across London choose us

We work with treats, toys and play, keeping every session light so your pet enjoys the experience rather than enduring it. Owners are kept in the room and used deliberately, since a dog will give a look to its own person that no stranger can ever hope to get.

Your edited gallery is ready quickly, and we keep the turnaround fast so you are not left waiting. Wall art comes as fine prints, framed pictures or canvases, and one large print of a single animal is by far the most common choice owners make.

Good to know

Pet Photographer in Richmond upon Thames, FAQs

Mostly with calm and patience. We take things slowly, keep our voices soft, and let the animal lead, tempting it with treats and play rather than pushing. For pets from London, the quiet, single-animal studio means even anxious cats and dogs soon relax. We cover Richmond upon Thames and nearby Twickenham, Teddington and Barnes.

Yes, and we enjoy it. A very dark pet is a rewarding challenge, and years behind the camera mean we know just how to light one so the coat and eyes keep all their detail. We take the same care with white and pale-coated animals. Getting to Richmond upon Thames is straightforward for us: served by Richmond station on the London Underground District line, South Western Railway and London Overground.

Absolutely. Some of our favourite pictures show an owner and their pet together, and we would love that for you in London. Join the frame to capture your bond, or stay just outside it to keep your animal settled and facing the camera. Landmarks we can work with near Richmond upon Thames include Richmond Park, a Royal Park and National Nature Reserve home to herds of deer.

Very soon. We work to a fast turnaround, so there is little waiting once your session is done. As soon as the gallery of edited images is ready, you can enjoy it, share it and pick your favourites, with our help choosing prints, frames or canvases. For outdoor photographs in Richmond upon Thames we would suggest Richmond Park, with wide open grassland, ponds and ancient trees for outdoor sessions.

Yes. Richmond upon Thames sits within our normal travelling range, along with Twickenham, Teddington and Barnes, and pet sessions nearly always happen where the animal lives or on ground it walks already. For a dog that usually means meeting at a Richmond Park gate you use anyway. For cats, rabbits and animals that travel badly, we photograph indoors where they live.

The deer are the fact that shapes every dog session in Richmond Park, and not for the reason people expect. Recall that has never failed at home fails the first time a dog sees a herd move, so loose running is a decision made on the day, on ground where nothing is grazing, rather than something assumed before we arrive. Everywhere else we would work a long line, slack and trailing, and keep it out of frame by standing further back with a longer lens. Coat colour then decides the exposure. Winter grass is bleached almost white and a black dog against it is easy to see and hard to expose: meter the field and the animal comes back as a cut-out with no fur in it at all. We read off the coat instead and let the grass go bright, which keeps the texture along the ribs and the shine on the muzzle. Pale dogs want the opposite and want cloud. Water goes last in the running order, never first, because a coat that has been in a pond does not come back inside the session, and everything photographed after it looks like a different dog. Ground under old trees tends towards root, rut and hollow rather than lawn, so an animal that is stiff or elderly is better kept on open grass close to where you came in, in short spells, with the camera coming down to the animal rather than the animal being called about.
