It is a Royal Park and National Nature Reserve, and covering it properly means choosing one area of grassland or one group of trees and staying there, rather than driving between spots while the light goes. York House, The Bingham Riverhouse and The Petersham Hotel all sit close to the river, so the walk to a portrait location is short and the couple are back with their guests quickly. Richmond station serves the District line, South Western Railway and London Overground together, so guests from Twickenham, Teddington and Barnes arrive without cars and the schedule can be built around foot traffic rather than parking.
