For South Oxhey
Each session begins with time for your pet to settle in and get used to the camera. Most of the work is done with treats, toys and patience, and your pet can take a break whenever it needs one.
Afterwards you choose favourite images from an online gallery in your own time. Retouching is gentle, tidying stray leads or fluff without changing your pet's character, and final files are ready for printing and sharing, with prints, frames and canvases available to order.

I would highly recommend Northwood Hills Studio. We have been been capturing our favourite family portraits since 2004. Always great fun, yet very professional. The printed results are great and we will keep coming back.
We had a family photo session with grandparents, parents sons and our dog too. Mr Bathia is good humoured, he got the best out of all of us and took some great photos.
Brilliant photography session with the whole family! Great service and would definitely recommend to anyone looking to take outstanding photos.
What we offer
Woodland dog portraits among the ancient trees and sunken paths of Oxhey Woods.
Summer running shots across the open grass of Prestwick Road Meadows.
Calm studio sessions for cats and nervous rescues, a few minutes from South Oxhey.
Why choose us
Squeaky toys and treats come along to every session, and the occasional ridiculous noise is fair game for the perfect expression. Play, toys and treats keep things light, so the session is something your pet enjoys rather than puts up with.
Dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, rabbits, guinea pigs and horses can all be photographed, and other animals are welcome to discuss. Nothing is rushed, and your animal gets time to sniff around and settle before the camera comes out.

Good to know
Yes. Nervous and rescue cats nearly always do better in the studio than outdoors. Bring the cat in its own carrier with something that smells of home, and let it come out when it is ready. Nothing is rushed or forced, and pictures are taken as the cat gains confidence in the room.
The animal sets the pace. Time is set aside at the start for sniffing, exploring and getting used to the camera, and breaks are taken whenever needed. Treats, toys and a calm owner close by all help, and for jumpy pets the quiet of the studio can be easier than an open space.
You receive an online gallery to view at home and choose your favourite images, with no pressure. The chosen pictures are retouched gently and supplied ready for printing and sharing. Prints, frames, canvases and albums can also be ordered, so your pet can take pride of place on the wall.
That is completely normal, and some of the best images are of dogs on the move. Outdoors in Oxhey Woods or on Prestwick Road Meadows, a lively dog can explore and run, which often helps it settle for a few calmer portraits afterwards. Plenty of treats and a favourite toy help to catch its attention.
Kaushik Bathia FBIPP FMPA leads each pet session, having founded the studio in 2001, won five European Kodak Gold Awards and earned a 4.8 rating from 580+ Google reviews. Each session runs at the animal's pace, with patience, treats and breaks, either in the studio or outdoors in places such as Oxhey Woods.
Serving South Oxhey
Pet photography from our Northwood studio covers much of Hertfordshire, South Oxhey included. It sits close to Oxhey and Carpenders Park, which we cover too. Your pet can be photographed in the studio or out on location in South Oxhey, whichever your animal will enjoy more.
South Oxhey, built as a London County Council estate from the late 1940s, is a few minutes from the studio, so the journey for a pet is short. It lies in Three Rivers district, where Oxhey Woods is the largest local nature reserve at about 100 hectares. Carpenders Park station on the London Overground has a subway exit on the South Oxhey side, should you travel by train. Outdoor pet sessions could use the ancient woodland and sunken paths of Oxhey Woods Local Nature Reserve, or the summer flowers of Prestwick Road Meadows nearby.

Guides
Journal reading to help your pet get ready for a session in South Oxhey.
For pet owners in South Oxhey, a session can happen in the Northwood Hills studio, a few minutes away, or outdoors in the green spaces close to home. Oxhey Woods, about 100 hectares of woodland with sunken paths and old ditches, is a superb setting for a dog that loves to explore, and the dappled light under the canopy is gentle on pale coats that can glare in full sun. The firm-surfaced trail from the Prestwick Road car park means you can reach good spots without wading through mud. Prestwick Road Meadows, open grass edged with ancient hedgerows, works well for running shots in summer, while South Oxhey Playing Fields gives broad open space with a car park off Green Lane. Sessions are always at the animal's pace: there is no forcing a sit or a stay, and a nervous or rescue animal is given time to settle before anything else happens. Cats, rabbits and other small pets are almost always happier in the studio, where there are no strange scents or sudden noises. Bring treats your pet adores, a favourite toy, a towel for muddy paws and water for a warm day. Owners can appear in the frame or stay out, and many of the most natural pictures come from simply walking together.
