The richest outdoor setting nearby is Oxhey Woods, a local nature reserve of about 100 hectares with parts that have been wooded for at least four centuries. A firm-surfaced trail of about a kilometre runs from the car park at Prestwick Road and Oxhey Drive, which keeps smart shoes clean and makes the woods practical even in a suit or a long dress. Prestwick Road Meadows, a surviving scrap of old farm meadow with ancient hedgerows, comes into its own in summer when it is in flower, and gives a lighter, more open look than the trees. Portrait, family and headshot sittings happen there by appointment, passport and ID photos are taken on demand, and printing, framing, restoration and digitising are all done in house. We keep the doors open 10:30 to 18:00 Monday to Saturday and 13:00 to 18:00 on Sundays.
Every portrait session is taken personally by Kaushik Bathia, FBIPP and FMPA, from the Northwood studio he opened in 2001, and his work has won five European Kodak Gold Awards.
