Slough station is on the Great Western Main Line and the Elizabeth line, with the M4 running along the southern edge of the town. For pre-wedding and couple portraits, we love spots such as Salt Hill Park, a Victorian public park in the west of the town, with Upton Court and St Laurence's Church at Upton, and the town's association with astronomer William Herschel close by for a striking backdrop.

The exchange of garlands and the joy of the sangat around the couple are moments we love to photograph. We keep our distance during the laavan and the prayers, and step in only for the joyful greetings. The hukamnama, the reading taken after the laavan, closes the ceremony, and we capture it with respect.

We capture the groom's arrival for the milni, surrounded by dancing family and the beat of the dhol. The day often opens early with kirtan in the gurdwara, and we are there for it. We capture the family moments around the bride and groom, not just the rituals.
