When there is time for couple portraits, Denham Country Park, part of the Colne Valley Regional Park with riverside meadows is a favourite, and Denham Film Studios site and the medieval St Mary's Church makes a memorable setting.

The saptapadi is seven vows and seven steps, and we count them alongside you so the seventh, the one that completes the marriage, is never missed. Whatever your faith, the auspicious hour sets the tempo, and we plan our positions around the muhurat or muhurtham so the sacred minutes are never rushed for a picture. Antarpat, the cloth held between the couple before they first see one another, drops in an instant, and we are framed on the bride's face when it does.

Grah shanti and the smaller home pujas happen days ahead with only immediate family present, and they often yield the tenderest frames of the entire celebration. Haldi mornings usually happen in a courtyard or a back garden in flat daylight, and we work with that light rather than lighting it artificially. The cake, the entrance and the first dance now sit alongside the traditional rituals at most receptions, and we cover both halves of that blend equally.
