It is solved by deciding whose face you are exposing for and letting the flame land wherever it lands. Sit low. Most of what matters during the agni happens between hands, the pandit's and the couple's, and hands sit down at fire level rather than up at guest level.
The saptapadi repeats. Four circuits, seven steps, the same background arriving again on each pass, and four frames that differ by nothing are worth one. So the photographer moves rather than the couple: a corner first, the guests' side second, low behind the flame third. Sindoor is the opposite problem, gone inside a second. That one is a matter of being positioned before it starts, which means asking the pandit rather than watching for it.
