There is no fixed running order. Kaushik lets each animal explore first, then works in short bursts with treats, toys and sounds to catch an alert expression, a head tilt or a full sprint. Older or anxious pets are given longer breaks.
You choose favourites from an online gallery afterwards, with no pressure to pick more than you want. Images are delivered web-ready and print-ready, and canvases, framed prints and albums are available for anyone wanting their pet on the wall.

We had a large family photoshoot to do which can always be tricky. Kaushik was absolutely fantastic with a myriad of toys and noises to get smiles out of the little ones (they are still talking about the mouse on a stick!). Kaushik took the various different combinations we wanted and positioned each one expertly.
I was nervous about how my 2 year old would react, but we had a great photo session! Kaushik had plenty of props to keep my son entertained, laughing, and happily posing.Afterward, he was incredibly patient as we went through every single photo to pick our favorites, even though we kept changing our minds. I highly recommend his service and will definitely be back once my second baby is born!
We had a family shoot at the studio, Kaushik took some wonderful photos. He was excellent with the kids and was very good at making them smile naturally, the end results were brilliant. We purchased a canvas and 2 further large framed photos. All completed on time and to perfection. Very pleased.
What we offer
Outdoor sessions on the footpaths and woodland edges of Leavesden Country Park.
Studio sessions in Northwood for cats, rabbits and nervous animals who prefer quiet.
Owners welcome in the pictures, or the pet can have the frame to itself.
Local and experienced
Kaushik gets down to your animal's eye level, which keeps the pictures close and full of the personality you see at home. Treats, squeaky toys and plenty of patience come to every session, along with a willingness to make ridiculous noises for one alert look.
Favourite frames can become wall art, an album or a small desk print, so your pet turns up in every room. Two or more animals are welcome, photographed together, one after another or both.

Recent work
Most animals relax once they have space to wander and sniff around. Each spot below links to its source; Leavesden Country Park, for one, asks for dogs on leads in its enclosed areas during the summer grazing months.

Good to know
Certainly. A horse or pony is photographed where it lives, at its stables or field in Hertfordshire, whereas rabbits, guinea pigs and similar small pets visit the studio. Whatever the species, the session moves at the animal's own pace.
Dogs and cats are the most common, but rabbits, guinea pigs and other small pets are welcome too. Small or nervous animals usually settle more easily in the studio, where there are no unexpected noises, while lively dogs often enjoy a session outdoors. If you have a less usual pet, get in touch to talk through what would work.
Once the session images have been prepared, you receive an online gallery to look through in your own time. There is no pressure to choose quickly or to choose many. The favourites you pick are retouched naturally and delivered in versions suitable for screens and for printing, with frames and canvases available if you want them.
Yes. Location sessions run within about 20 miles of the Northwood studio, and Leavesden is about 6 miles away, so a session in Leavesden Country Park or another familiar spot is straightforward. Many animals relax more on their own walking ground. The studio remains an option if the weather is poor or your pet would rather be indoors.
Yes. Young animals change remarkably quickly, so a session in the first few months captures a stage that will not come back. Puppies and kittens tire fast, so sessions are kept short with plenty of pauses, and the studio is often the best setting because it is warm, quiet and enclosed. Bring a favourite toy and a few small treats.
Serving Leavesden
Leavesden, on Watford's northern fringe next to the old aerodrome, is around 6 miles from where studio pet sittings take place. It sits close to Garston and Abbots Langley, which we cover too. Pets from Leavesden can be photographed outdoors locally, on their own ground, or indoors at the Northwood studio.
Leavesden developed around Leavesden Aerodrome, a wartime aircraft factory later turned into the film studios that made GoldenEye and the Harry Potter series. Now a busy residential community in Abbots Langley parish on Watford's northern fringe, it has the 27 hectares of Leavesden Country Park on its doorstep. Garston station on the Abbey Line, between Watford Junction and St Albans Abbey, is the local stop for owners travelling without a car. For relaxed outdoor photographs around Leavesden, Leavesden Country Park is one option, and Warner Bros. Studio Tour London sits nearby as the area's famous film attraction.
More in Leavesden
Pet sessions sit alongside the other Leavesden services listed here, all run by Kaushik from Northwood. Explore the rest: we also cover pet photography across Hertfordshire, including Oxhey, Radlett, Croxley Green, Abbots Langley, St Albans and Chorleywood.
Leavesden Country Park is the natural setting for a pet session here, and the council's own rules shape how it would run. Dog walkers can use the footpaths that cross the Horses' Fields, but in the enclosed areas dogs must stay on leads during the summer grazing months. In practice that means a summer session works best on the paths and in the open woodland edges, with a long lead that can be hidden low in the frame or removed later in retouching where appropriate. Outside those months, check any signage on the day before planning a running shot, and a recall that is reliable makes the action frames far easier. The Edwardian garden suits a calmer animal or an older pet who would rather sit than sprint. Timing is everything with animals. A dog that has been walked for ten minutes first is far easier to photograph than one fresh out of the car, so arrive a little early and let them sniff and settle. Bring treats, a squeaky toy and water. Cats, rabbits and nervous animals are usually happier in the studio at Northwood, about 6 miles from Leavesden, where nothing unexpected walks past and the session can run entirely at the animal's own pace.
