The group photograph comes first while attention is fresh, followed by smaller combinations: parents together, siblings, each child alone and a few with grandparents. Kaushik keeps the direction light and playful so the children forget the camera.
After the session you look through an online gallery at home and choose the pictures you love. Files come web-ready and print-ready, and wall prints, framed pieces, canvases and albums can be ordered from the same selection.

I attended Northwood Hills Studio-Kaushik Bathia photography with my family and I had the most amazing time. My family was made to feel extremely relaxed and welcomed, and the result was some fabulous images He was organised and professional and kept everything stress free. A very enjoyable day out with fantastic photos as a result.
Kaushik is a fantastic photographer and has captured some superb family memories for us! Great service with high quality, professional images.
Very good experience. Did a family shoot at Kaushik Bathia's studio yesterday. He was amazing at getting all of us to give natural smiles.
What we offer
Outdoor family sessions in Leavesden Country Park, with the sculpture trail as a game for children.
Newborn sessions and colder-month shoots happen indoors at the warm Northwood studio, about 6 miles from Leavesden.
Every combination covered, from the whole group to each child on their own.
Local and experienced
Outdoor family sessions use soft daylight and green space, such as the Edwardian garden at Leavesden Country Park or a park your children already love. Before the camera comes out there is time to chat and play, so parents and children from Leavesden feel relaxed.
Maternity, newborn, cake smash and milestone sessions are all on offer, alongside traditional portraits of grandparents, parents and children together. Every family gallery is carefully edited, and favourites can be ordered as a hand-finished album, prints, frames or canvases.

Good to know
Yes, and they should be. Parents often realise years later that they appear in almost none of the family pictures because they were always the one holding the camera. So the session covers everyone together, the two of you as a couple, each parent with the children, and the children on their own.
Probably not, and that is fine. Sessions are run at the child's pace, with play built in, so a toddler can wander, explore and come back. Outdoors in Leavesden Country Park the sculpture trail gives them something to chase, which produces far better expressions than asking them to sit. The group shot is taken early, while patience lasts.
A cake smash marks a first birthday with a cake for your baby to explore. We photograph the anticipation, the mess and the pure delight as it happens. It is huge fun, and one of the most joyful sessions we offer.
Yes. Maternity portraits can be taken in the studio, where lighting can be shaped gently around the bump and the room is warm, or outdoors when the weather is kind. A partner and older children are welcome to join. Many people choose a date in the later weeks of pregnancy, when the shape is clear but moving around is still comfortable.
After the session the images are prepared and shared in an online gallery, which you can look through at home with the whole family. You choose your favourites without any pressure, and the chosen pictures are delivered in web-ready and print-ready versions. Any of those chosen images can also be turned into prints, frames, canvases or an album.
Serving Leavesden
Leavesden, best known for the Harry Potter studio tour, lies about 6 miles from the Northwood family studio. It sits close to Garston and Abbots Langley, which we cover too. Leavesden families can be photographed at the studio or at an outdoor Hertfordshire spot picked with the children in mind.
Leavesden began around a wartime aircraft factory at Leavesden Aerodrome, whose site later became the film studios for GoldenEye and the Harry Potter series. Today it is a thriving residential community within Abbots Langley parish, right at Watford's northern edge. Families coming by train can use Garston station, which has step-free access for buggies, on the Abbey Line between Watford Junction and St Albans Abbey. For on-location sessions we can head to spots such as Leavesden Country Park, close to the well-known Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, which shows the original Harry Potter sets.

Guides
Ideas from our journal for planning a family shoot from Leavesden.
A family session around Leavesden has an obvious home in Leavesden Country Park, where the heritage trail turns a walk into a hunt for nine sculptures. That matters more than it sounds. Young children who are told to stand and smile give you a few seconds; children who are racing to find the next sculpture give you twenty minutes of real expressions, and the photographs follow them rather than the other way round. The Edwardian garden then provides a calmer, tidier spot for the frame with everybody in it, best taken early while patience is still high. Cassiobury Park in Watford is the other local option, with splash pools, a miniature railway and cafés, which makes it a good choice for a family who wants the session to feel like a day out. Ground can be soft after rain, so wellies in the car and a change of trousers for the smallest are sensible. Coordinate clothing in two or three muted tones rather than matching outfits. For newborns, for winter dates, or for a grandparent who would prefer a chair to a walk, the studio in Northwood is the better choice, and it lies about 6 miles from Leavesden with parking a short walk away.
