In a hall or a clubhouse room the fittings answer to you, so the day changes trade halfway through and its second half rewards decisions its first half never allowed. Two shoots, then, joined by a seam, and the seam is usually the thin part of a wedding album: cars, changing, a meal, an unscheduled hour with everybody scattered. We plan that gap before we plan anything else.

Listen rather than watch. Each laav is read first and sung second, and the couple rise only once the singing starts, so the ragis announce what is coming several seconds before any movement does. Anyone whose eyes stay on the couple is permanently half a beat late. Four circuits follow, and the difficulty there is not repetition but level: everybody is seated, we are seated, and there is very little height available to work with.
The palla is handed across at floor level and lasts moments. Milni happens outside, early, in a run of paired embraces that nobody announces in advance, so the order of pairs is something we request the night before. Langar is not a portrait session; it is hands, plates and steam, taken from standing height and otherwise left alone. Come the doli, whatever contrast the day had is gone, and the useful frames sit inside the car doorway rather than beyond it.
