The short answer
An award winning, London based wedding photographer, Kaushik Bathia has spent more than twenty five years photographing weddings in Ickenham and right across Greater London. A small number of frames get made deliberately: the two of you, in good light, looking at the camera. Ten minutes covers it, and those are the ones parents ask to print. From intimate register office ceremonies to grand country house weddings, and from village churches to garden and marquee celebrations, we photograph every kind of wedding in and around Ickenham. After a quarter of a century of weddings, we stay calm when timings change, which they often do, and we adjust without any fuss reaching you or your guests. Engagement shoots, a second photographer for busier days and beautiful fine art albums are all part of what we offer, and we travel throughout Greater London and the rest of the UK for your wedding.
A working Victorian village pump of 1866 stands at the centre of this village-like Hillingdon suburb, which sets the scale of the place rather neatly. Swakeleys House, the Grade I listed Jacobean mansion, is the landmark, and Swakeleys Park gives the open ground for portraits and group photographs without a long drive attached. The Fox, Qvardis and The Barn Hotel take the celebrations across three quite different settings, and each asks for a different balance between candid coverage and formal work. Ickenham tube station serves the Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines, so London guests arrive without cars and the drinks reception is not held up by parking. Ruislip, Hillingdon and Northolt are minutes away. The studio is in Northwood, close enough that an unhurried early start needs no special arrangement at either end of the day.
Serving Ickenham
Ickenham is a village-like Hillingdon suburb. From hotel weddings to barn celebrations and register office ceremonies, we photograph the full spread of venues in South Ruislip, Uxbridge and the wider Greater London. The exchange of rings, the signing of the register and the walk back up the aisle all matter to us, and we cover each without asking you to pause.
Our method is simple: we follow the day rather than direct it, so what you see later is how it actually felt, not a version we staged. You will barely notice us at work, and that is the point; we move calmly around the day so the pictures show how it actually felt, not how it was arranged. Backlight is our default for portraits, placing the sun behind you and exposing for your faces, which keeps skin soft and stops anyone squinting through an entire session.
Over the years we have grown to know Ickenham and its venues. Ickenham is a village-like Hillingdon suburb, and we photograph weddings across the surrounding towns too, from Islington through to Kensington and Chelsea. Close to Ickenham, we have worked at venues including The Fox and Qvardis and The Barn Hotel.

What we offer
We watch both the speaker and the table, so the laughter, the pauses and the quiet tears are all held.
The family groups are done kindly and briskly, worked out beforehand so nobody stands around waiting.
We photograph the day as it unfolds, watching for real moments rather than staging them, so your gallery feels honest.
Every kind of wedding
Our approach to the ceremony is simple: watch closely, stay out of the way and record the promises exactly as you make them. We arrive early enough to photograph the empty ceremony room, because once guests are seated the flowers, the aisle and the setup you planned are effectively gone. Running late compresses everything that follows, so we quietly recalculate the portrait and group timings while the service is still happening rather than afterwards.
Coats, bags and empty glasses accumulate on the top table by the speeches, and clearing the front of it takes ten seconds and improves every photograph that follows. During the meal we photograph the room from the doorway rather than table by table, which spares your guests being interrupted mid-course by a camera. Table details are photographed before guests come in for the wedding breakfast, which usually means slipping into the room while everyone is still outside with a drink.

The whole celebration
We like to reach the getting ready early, so we can settle in, meet the people around you and be part of the calm before things begin in earnest. Getting-ready coverage of both partners in different locations needs either two photographers or a deliberate choice about which one we start with, and that decision is best made months ahead.
We take care that the calm and the joyful sit side by side in your gallery, so the finished story holds the full range of how the day felt. We stay with you from morning until the party is in full swing, so the pictures move naturally from calm to celebration without any gaps in the middle.
Why choose us
With more than 1,000 weddings behind us over twenty-five years, very little takes us by surprise, and that experience keeps us steady when a day runs long. With more than 1,000 weddings behind us over twenty-five years, very little takes us by surprise, and that experience keeps us steady when a day runs long.
Our base is London, and travelling to Greater London is offered as part of the service rather than treated as an obstacle; the practical questions are parking, access and arrival time. Distance is a logistics question rather than a barrier. Tell us the venue in Greater London and we will work out whether the day needs an overnight stay before it needs anything else.

Where we travel
Equipment travels with us to Greater London in duplicate, precisely because a long drive is not the moment to discover something important has been left behind at home. Whether your day stays close to South Ruislip, Uxbridge or spreads across Greater London, we plan the logistics so the coverage flows without gaps.

Good to know
Gladly, it is one of our favourite things to help with. After a quarter of a century and over a thousand weddings, we have a realistic feel for the timing of everything, preparations to first dance included. We are happy to look over your outline and offer small adjustments so your Ickenham day runs smoothly without squeezing the photography.
Absolutely. The whole day depends on teamwork, and we cooperate readily with your planner, venue coordinator, celebrant, videographer and band to keep everything flowing smoothly. We stay conscious of the timings and give space at pivotal moments like the ceremony and speeches, so every supplier gets what they need and nobody ends up stepping on anyone else. Ickenham and neighbouring Ruislip, Hillingdon and Northolt are all covered.
Look beyond the standout images to see whole galleries from actual weddings, find a style that feels honest to you, and meet the person to check you get on. When the day arrives and plans wobble or the light turns, experience is what carries it. Since 2001 we have photographed well over a thousand weddings, so very little throws us. Venues we know near Ickenham include The Fox and Qvardis.
The sought-after dates, summer and bank holidays especially, often go a year or more in advance, which makes booking early sensible. Even so, should your Ickenham wedding be coming up soon, it is worth an enquiry, as gaps do open up at shorter notice. The quickest route to an answer is simply to pick up the phone.
Usually not. For weddings within a sensible distance, travel is part of the package with nothing added. Only for venues a good deal further away, or where an overnight stay is wise, might we ask for a small contribution towards costs, and that is always agreed up front. Hidden fees simply are not how we work. For Ickenham bookings the nearest link is served by Ickenham tube station on the Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines.
Yes, as much as you need. For portraits we offer simple, friendly prompts about where to stand and what to do with your hands, so you never feel stranded in front of the lens. The rest of the day needs almost nothing from you, because we work quietly around the celebration as it unfolds. Open air sessions near Ickenham tend to use Swakeleys Park.
Almost certainly, yes. From country houses and barns to hotels, register offices and places of worship in and around Ickenham, there are very few settings we have not worked in. If your venue is new to us, we study the space beforehand and, wherever we can, visit or arrive early to read the light and plan the important frames.
