The short answer
Kaushik Bathia is an award winning wedding photographer based in London, photographing weddings in Watford and throughout Hertfordshire for over twenty five years and more than a thousand celebrations. Because we work by observing rather than instructing, the day stays yours from beginning to end, and the pictures simply remember it as it was. From intimate register office ceremonies to grand country house weddings, and from village churches to garden and marquee celebrations, we photograph every kind of wedding in and around Watford. Long experience means we handle groups and speeches smoothly, keeping things moving so the schedule holds and your guests stay relaxed. You can add an engagement shoot, a second photographer and hand finished albums, and we are glad to travel across Hertfordshire and beyond, so wherever your day is held it is well within reach.
Cassiobury Park, with the River Gade and the canal running through it, is why so many weddings here keep the portrait session outdoors: it is large, varied and close to the centre, so a twenty minute walk produces water, trees and open lawn without any transfer. The Grove has grounds of its own, while The Langley Banqueting Suites and Hilton Watford need a planned run for outdoor frames. Vicarage Road, home of Watford Football Club, and the Warner Bros. Studio Tour at nearby Leavesden give this lively Hertfordshire town its landmarks, and its large shopping centre keeps the streets busy for documentary work. Watford Junction on the West Coast Main Line and Watford station on the Metropolitan line bring guests in from two directions, with Croxley Green, Rickmansworth and Abbots Langley close by.
Serving Watford
Watford is a lively Hertfordshire town with banqueting venues. Whether you choose a register office, a barn, a country house or a hotel, we photograph across Hertfordshire and know the area around Bushey, Garston and Oxhey closely. However you choose to marry, we read the room first, learn where to stand and then document the exchange of vows as it truly unfolds.
Confetti works best when someone lines the guests into two short rows rather than a wide circle, and we ask your ushers to sort that while you wait indoors for a moment. Throughout the day we stay unobtrusive and adaptable, adjusting quietly to changes of plan so the coverage never feels stiff or interrupted. Quiet shutters and no autofocus beeps mean we can work through readings and vows without the mechanical clatter that older cameras used to add to every silence.
Photographing a wedding in Watford always feels like familiar ground. Watford is a lively Hertfordshire town with banqueting venues, and we cover the wider area, taking in Carpenders Park, Maple Cross and the county around them. We are at home at Watford-area venues such as The Grove, The Langley Banqueting Suites and Hilton Watford.
A lively Hertfordshire town just outside London, with a large shopping centre and a well-known football club. Served by Watford Junction on the West Coast Main Line and Watford station on the Metropolitan line. For relaxed couple photographs, we like Cassiobury Park, a large historic park with the River Gade and canal, and Vicarage Road, home of Watford Football Club, with the Warner Bros. Studio Tour at nearby Leavesden gives the day a strong sense of Watford.

What we offer
We photograph weddings across the country and are happy to travel wherever your celebration is taking place.
Chosen frames can become prints for the wall, sized and finished so a favourite moment stays in view.
Beyond the album we can produce framed prints and wall art, so your favourite images live on your walls.
Every kind of wedding
Some ceremonies are hushed and some are joyful, and we adapt to both, photographing the vows, the rings and the glances that pass between you. Some couples marry quietly with a handful of witnesses and others before a full congregation, and we adapt our approach so the coverage suits the scale of your ceremony. For any faith or none, we treat the ceremony as sacred to you, working gently so nothing we do pulls focus from the vows themselves.
From the first arrivals to the send off, we photograph the reception as one continuous celebration rather than a series of items to tick off a list. We photograph the arrivals, the confetti and the drinks that follow, giving the reception the same care we bring to the ceremony itself. If speeches are before the meal, expect a calmer, sharper room and better photographs; after three courses and wine the reactions are warmer but the light is usually gone.

The whole celebration
The hour before you leave is when parents see you dressed for the first time, and holding that back until we are in position gives you a photograph worth having. Arriving early means we are ready when the unplanned things happen, the surprise visit, the last hug, the quiet minute alone before you leave for the venue.
The finished set should feel like the day itself, unhurried in the morning, warm over the meal and loose by the evening. We read how the day is going and step back when it needs room, then come closer for the moments that ask to be kept.
Why choose us
Our awards reflect consistency rather than a single lucky frame; the same standard we are recognised for is the standard every couple receives. Over twenty-five years the biggest change in wedding photography has been guest phones, and the practical answer is to be closer than they are and to shoot slightly before they do.
A second photographer can join us when travel or a split-venue day calls for it, so coverage across Bushey, Garston and Oxhey and Hertfordshire stays seamless. Motorway runs and rural approaches into Hertfordshire are worth checking against the day of the week, because a Saturday afternoon route and a Friday evening one are not the same journey.

Where we travel
It is no trouble at all for us to head out to Bushey, Garston and Oxhey and the wider Hertfordshire, and we often do exactly that across the wedding season. Wherever the celebration takes you, we come along, covering venues throughout Bushey, Garston and Oxhey and right across Hertfordshire without a fuss.

Good to know
Weddings often drift a little, and we are relaxed about that. If you would like us to stay past the agreed finish time, we can usually add extra hours on the day, and we will let you know the cost before we carry on. We would much rather stay than miss a memorable moment. Open air sessions near Watford tend to use Cassiobury Park, a large historic park with the River Gade and canal.
Yes, and we recommend them. A relaxed pre-wedding shoot lets us get to know each other, helps you feel comfortable in front of the camera and often calms any nerves about the wedding day itself. You also come away with lovely images you can use for save-the-dates or a guest sign-in book. We know Watford well, including Vicarage Road, home of Watford Football Club, with the Warner Bros. Studio Tour at nearby Leavesden.
Full-day coverage typically produces between 500 and 700 finished images, though the precise number hinges on your guest count, the schedule and how much is going on. We never pad the gallery out with near-duplicates. Every photo you receive from your Watford wedding has been chosen and edited, so what you get is the best of the day.
We can, and many couples like us to stay through the speeches and first dance, as those are some of the warmest moments of the whole day. If you would prefer coverage to finish a little earlier, that works just as well. We will agree the finish time in advance so there are no surprises. Watford and neighbouring Croxley Green, Rickmansworth and Abbots Langley are all covered.
We would love that. Meeting in person, or over a video call if that is easier, helps you get a feel for how we work and lets us hear all about your plans. There is no pressure at all; it is simply a friendly conversation so you can decide with real confidence. Watford is easy to reach, served by Watford Junction on the West Coast Main Line and Watford station on the Metropolitan line.
How much it costs depends on the hours involved, the addition of a second photographer, and whether an album is part of it. We work to a range of packages and can also design a bespoke option around your Watford wedding. The easiest thing is to give us your date and venues, and we will send an honest, no-obligation quote.
We do. Every package comes with your finished photographs in high resolution, with no watermarks stamped across them, delivered by a private gallery you download from at your leisure. You are welcome to print them independently, though many couples ask us to produce albums, framed pieces and wall art crafted to a professional standard instead. Around Watford we have photographed at The Grove and The Langley Banqueting Suites.
