Documenting Asian weddings in Walthamstow
A short week, not a long day: that is the honest description. The events occupy several dates and several buildings, and what nobody budgets time for is what happens in between: the drive, the reload, one night's cards copied twice before the next night starts. Those intervals are working hours in our diary. An uncopied card is the single real hazard in a job of this length, and it is entirely avoidable.
Several buildings inside one week means several unrelated light sources, which is the quiet threat to any gallery. High ceilings feed a room one way, a single domestic window feeds it another, glass walls another again, and a taproom hands you whatever is bolted overhead. Untouched, a gallery of that week will look like five photographers took it. One colour treatment runs across everything, so an image from Thursday and an image from Sunday belong together.

What we offer
Asian wedding coverage in Walthamstow
Every Tradition
Portraits That Last
Every tradition
Hindu, Sikh, Gujarati, Muslim and Tamil weddings
Our opening question to any family concerns who has authority over the ceremony, since our own position follows from the answer. Where a priest holds it, the constraint is a live fire. Where an officiant holds it, the constraint is permission. Where the room itself holds it, what constrains you is the level you must remain at. Three distinct jobs, and improvising any of them on the morning goes badly. The answer arrives weeks earlier, in writing, from whoever actually knows.
Receptions behave alike no matter what preceded them: a big room, a couple raised above it, speeches, and light we install because none is there already. That is also the stretch where a long week begins to show in the pictures. Rest belongs on the kit list. Better to finish the last evening with something held back than to file four good nights and one flat one, which is what a family remembers.

Why choose us
Why Couples Across Greater London Trust Us With Their Wedding
Because the whole week is planned as one job, not as five bookings that share a surname by coincidence, and because no part of that planning asks anybody to explain a tradition to us mid-ceremony. Hand over the running order. Where we stand, what we carry between buildings and how late we stay are our problems.

Your photographer is Kaushik Bathia, a fellow of both the BIPP and the MPA, with five European Gold awards and more than a thousand weddings behind him since 2001.

Asian weddings in Walthamstow, FAQs
Respect here means preparation more than tact. Three questions go to each family privately: what matters most to them, what may never be photographed, and whom we approach when something is unclear. Those answers become one plan that nobody has to enforce.
Discretion is the point, not a courtesy. Long glass, flash left off, a spot taken before the seats fill, and no movement once proceedings begin. If the shutter carries to the front row, the spot was wrong and we relocate quietly.
All three, on their own terms. Each sets rules that cannot be guessed from outside its door. Ask for them in writing well ahead, then forward them, so that no question remains open when we reach the entrance on the day.
Gladly. It is the loosest part of any week: daylight, an outdoor space or a wide window, everybody in clothes they do not care about, and turmeric going everywhere. Bring a camera you are willing to clean. We bring two.
Absolutely, on hundreds of occasions. Dhol players, DJs, decorators and caterers are all part of the Asian wedding world we work in, and we know how to weave around them without treading on toes. When everyone cooperates well, the day runs beautifully and we are always ready for the next moment. Walthamstow and neighbouring Highams Park, Blackhorse Road and Wood Street are all covered.
