For Greenwich
A session is really a walk, with photographs taken along it. No one gets asked to smile to order, and we carry little enough that there is nothing underfoot and no waiting about. Twenty minutes in, most families forget we came.
Afterwards the whole edited set comes to you, print size and screen size both, rather than a shortlist to buy back one frame at a time. The one holding everybody goes over first, since that is what the waiting was for.

What we offer
Family sessions in Greenwich Park or at home, paced by whatever stretch the youngest has in them, not by light.
The whole family frame taken first, seated groups before standing ones, and the running about kept for last.
Poor weather moves it into your own sitting room instead of a trip right across London.
Local and experienced
Shy children are ignored for the first ten minutes. Being paid no attention by an adult holding a camera is the fastest way for a child to become curious. Babies who are genuinely unsettled are handed straight back. Nothing is gained by pressing on, and the frames taken once a baby has calmed are always the better ones.
Newborn sessions are unhurried and gentle, with plenty of time for feeds, cuddles and settling baby between shots. Wall art, framed prints, canvases and fine-art albums are all available to turn your favourite images into keepsakes.

Good to know
Yes, at your home and not at a studio, because a baby that new should not be travelling across London for pictures. We fit round feeds and sleeping and stay as long as that takes. The pictures get decided by your largest window: we work beside it, curtains wide, every bulb in the house switched off, so choose the room in your Greenwich house with the most glass.
Every single one. From tiny newborns to grandparents in their eighties, we photograph the whole of your Greenwich family, right up to four generations gathered together. Family sessions that span every age are exactly what we love, so no one gets left out.
Yes, and the order changes a little when they do. Seated groups happen first, on a bench or a rug, while everyone is still content to be arranged, and standing frames come after. The Greenwich slopes can involve more walking than people expect, so if that is awkward, say as much beforehand and we can pick somewhere needing almost none, or work at the house.
Aim for those early newborn weeks, when babies tend to sleep deeply and curl up contentedly. Reaching out while you are still expecting works best, as it lets us hold a rough date near your due date and stay ready for baby's arrival. We cover Greenwich and nearby Blackheath, Deptford and Charlton.
Simply tell us as early as possible. With little ones, illness and off days are part of life, and we would far rather rearrange than photograph an unsettled child. We will happily find another date that suits your Greenwich family and gets everyone smiling.
Serving Greenwich
Clients come to us from all over London, including Greenwich (Greater London). It sits close to Lewisham and Bexley, which we cover too. We can photograph at the studio or on location in Greenwich, whichever suits you best.
Greenwich is a riverside south-east London borough rich in maritime history and home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site around its historic town centre. Cutty Sark DLR station and Greenwich station connect the area, with the DLR and National Rail links to central London. Sessions on location near Greenwich often use Greenwich Park, with The Royal Observatory and the Prime Meridian line close at hand.

The hill under Greenwich Park solves something that level ground makes you fight. A family lined up shoulder to shoulder on the flat is a row of mismatched heights, and the usual remedies are crouching, boxes, or a back row that ends up soft. On a gradient you put the tallest at the downhill end and let the slope do it, so an adult and a nine year old finish within a head of one another, nobody having been told to bend their knees. The gradient charges for that elsewhere. Whoever is pushing a pram, or unenthusiastic about a climb, ought to be walking downwards rather than up, which argues for starting high and finishing near the water. It also means the frame holding everybody gets taken while legs are fresh, instead of at the end when they are not. Wind is the remaining variable. High open ground above a river catches it from any direction, and it reaches the smallest person first. Shelter is in the planting: one pace in off the exposed slope and the trees take the worst away, so a dull position out of the blast beats a handsome one standing in it, every time. Should the weather have gone entirely, what makes sense is not a trek across London to Northwood but your own sitting room, where the biggest window becomes the light and nobody has to get four people, two coats and a pram through a door in the rain.
