Serving Greenwich

Every Asian tradition, photographed in Greenwich

Greenwich is a riverside south-east London borough rich in maritime history. We photograph Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Gujarati and Tamil weddings throughout Lewisham, Bexley and the surrounding towns. From grand banqueting suites to intimate temple ceremonies, we are at home everywhere across Greater London.

We let the day unfold at its own pace and meet it with a quiet, watchful eye. We anticipate each ritual, whatever the tradition, so the key moments are never missed. We bring a long lens and a light touch, so the most sacred parts of the day are captured from a respectful distance.

From our London base we travel across Greater London for Asian weddings, and Greenwich, a riverside south-east London borough rich in maritime history, is a familiar destination. We also photograph in nearby Hackney and Hammersmith and Fulham. Venues we know well in and near Greenwich include Old Royal Naval College, Charlton House and National Maritime Museum.

Greenwich is a riverside south-east London borough rich in maritime history and home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site around its historic town centre. Cutty Sark DLR station and Greenwich station connect the area, with the DLR and National Rail links to central London. For relaxed couple photographs, we like Greenwich Park, a Royal Park with panoramic river views and tree-lined avenues, and The Royal Observatory and the Prime Meridian line gives the day a strong sense of Greenwich.

Every tradition

The rituals that make your day

We work quietly around the priest, the granthi or the imam so the ceremony is never disturbed. We know the order of the rituals in each tradition, so we are always in position. We are ready for the giving of the sindoor and the tying of the mangalsutra at a Hindu ceremony.

The farewell, when the bride leaves her family, is the most tender moment of many Asian weddings. We document the engagement and pre-wedding events that begin the journey, when families ask us. The haldi or pithi is full of colour and play, and often holds the warmest, most natural moments.

The whole celebration

A multi-day celebration in Greenwich

Many families hold an engagement long before the wedding, and a mehndi or sangeet the night before. For large pre-wedding gatherings a second photographer makes sure two moments at once are captured.

From the baraat to the last guest, we follow the whole day at its own pace. We photograph the ceremony, the portraits and the reception in balance, so each is given its due.
