Greenwich hands you two lighting problems that pull in opposite directions. The grand ceremonial buildings of the historic core can have high windows and deep interiors, which flatter a wide frame and starve a close one. Greenwich Park does the reverse: open sky, long avenues, no ceiling to bounce anything off. A Hindu day here may want both, and the changeover between them eats time that was never in the plan.
Settle the running order before anything else. Agni is a small light in a bright room, and that ratio is the entire problem. Should the flame drive your exposure, guests behind it turn to shadow; should the walls drive it, that flame vanishes into the floorboards. We close the gap by keeping our own light low, warm and near, so the havan holds its colour while the faces around it stay readable. The mandap complicates this before it helps: four posts, a roof and a curtain of flowers delete most standing positions and drop shade across the couple at precisely the wrong height.
Kanyadaan arrives once and is finished inside a breath, so it is covered by already being positioned, never by reacting fast. The opposite risk belongs to saptapadi. Seven circuits edit down to one photograph unless something changes each time, so we walk rather than zoom, taking the first from the parents' side, the last from beyond the fire itself, and the ones between on faces instead of feet. Jaimala, sindoor and mangalsutra each earn a frame built around hands.
