Nothing about the room bends to suit a camera at an anand karaj. You sit on the floor, keep low at the side or well back, and no light of yours goes anywhere near it. Everything a photographer would normally adjust is decided already. Lighting is not the skill being asked for. Choosing a position early, reading an entire morning out of it, and still being right about that choice hours later: that is.
Then the day moves somewhere the opposite applies, and what could not be touched in the morning becomes yours to set. That reversal is the hardest hour of a Sikh day, because the two halves must read afterwards as a single wedding. We carry the morning's colour and contrast forward on purpose rather than starting the look again.
